But they don't just pop up right away; you'll need to get pretty far into the game to unlock them.

When you're tackling a 5 Star Tera Raid, expect the Pokemon to be around Level 75. Honestly, trying to beat these with just AI teammates can be a real headache. Your best bet is to team up with friends online for a much smoother experience. For the even rarer 6 Star Tera Raids, the Pokemon are Level 90 (though they'll be Level 75 once you catch them). These are seriously challenging, and you'll almost definitely need a full team of friends online because the AI just won't cut it.

How to Unlock Higher Star Tera Raids

To unlock 5 Star Tera Raids, you need to finish the main story, including the Area 0 storyline that comes after the initial Gym challenges. Once you see the credits roll and return to the game, these 5 Star Raids will start appearing.

After beating the main story, you'll unlock a post-game tournament at your school. This lets you re-battle a bunch of story opponents at higher levels. Once you complete this tournament, you'll be tasked with taking on some 5 Star Tera Raids. After you've successfully completed a certain number of these, you'll get word about new Tera Raids appearing – these will be your 6 Star Raids!

Quick Tip: Even after you've met the unlock conditions, both 5 and 6 Star Tera Raids are still pretty rare. So, don't get discouraged if you don't see them right away. Keep exploring the Paldea region, and they'll eventually pop up!
