How to Beat Koraidon, the Guardian of Paradise (Scarlet)

Learn the best strategy to defeat Koraidon, the Guardian of Paradise, in Pokemon Scarlet. This guide covers Koraidon's moves, weaknesses, and the optimal approach for victory.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Opponent: Koraidon (Guardian of Paradise)
• Ability: Orichalcum Pulse (activates harsh sunlight, boosting Attack for both Koraidon's)
• Recommended Move: Collision Course (Koraidon's signature move)
• Ineffective Move: Flamethrower (boosted by sunlight but not effective against Koraidon)

Phases:

1. Opening: The opposing Koraidon's Orichalcum Pulse activates harsh sunlight. Use Collision Course repeatedly. It deals about 1/10th of the opponent's health per use.
2. Opponent's Moves: Be aware of Taunt (prevents non-attacking moves like Endure), Bulk Up (boosts Attack and Defense), Flamethrower (deals moderate damage), and Giga Impact (deals high damage but requires a recharge turn).
3. Giga Impact Aftermath: After being hit by Giga Impact, your Koraidon will drop to 1 HP. On the following turn, your Koraidon's Attack will increase by 2 stages, and the opponent will be immobile. If you haven't been using Collision Course every turn, use a Max Potion or Full Restore to heal. Otherwise, skip healing and use Collision Course one last time.
4. Terastallization: The turn after Giga Impact, your Tera Orb will gain energy, and all of your Koraidon's stats will increase. Terastallize your Koraidon and use Tera Blast. This move should be super-effective and deal approximately half of the opponent's remaining health, likely securing the KO. If Collision Course was not used consistently, you might need an additional turn.

Strategy:

• Select "Pokémon" from the menu and choose your own Koraidon to battle.
• Spam Collision Course until the opponent uses Giga Impact.
• After Giga Impact, assess your HP. Heal if needed, then prepare to Terastallize.
• Use Tera Blast after Terastallizing for a powerful, super-effective attack to finish the fight.

After the Fight:

Upon defeating Koraidon, the story concludes. You will return to your room at the academy, opening up postgame content.
