Best Mewtwo Event Tera Raid Build

Build the best Mew in pokemon scarlet and violet for the Mewtwo Event Tera Raid. Mew is available until September 18th, 2023.

Mewtwo, a 7-Star Mightiest Mark Tera Raid Pokémon, naturally has a Psychic typing and Psychic Tera Typing. This means players need a build that is strong against Psychic-types, which Mewtwo resists. Mewtwo will use strong Psychic-type moves and its Psychic Tera Typing will deal 2x damage towards Fighting and Poison types. Psychic and Steel types will fare better, while Dark types are resistant to Psychic attacks.

However, the optimal strategy is to use a Mew with Bug Tera Typing. This mythical Pokémon is available via mystery gift until 18th September, 2023. You can only obtain one Mew per save file, and its Tera Type is random, so you may need to change it to Bug using 50 Bug Tera shards. Mew receives a 50% HP boost and a 20% boost to all other stats against Mewtwo due to their rivalry.

Mew Build for Mewtwo Tera Raid:

To learn the moveset, use TM bar Life Dew. Mew’s Adamant nature boosts Attack at the expense of Special Attack, which is suitable for this build.

Walkthrough:

Mewtwo the Unrivaled cannot be defeated solo. A team is required, consisting of three attacking Mews and one healing Mew. The strategy is as follows:

1. Attacking Mews:
   • Turns 1-3: Use Struggle Bug to lower Mewtwo’s Special Attack.
   • Turns 4-6: Use Swords Dance to sharply raise Mew’s Attack.
   • Turns 7+: Use Leech Life repeatedly until Mewtwo is defeated.
2. Healing Mew:
   • Turn 1: Use Light Screen to reduce Special Attack damage for eight turns (with Light Clay).
   • Turns 2-4: Use Life Dew to keep the party healed until Mewtwo’s shield is about to break.
   • Turn 5: Use Misty Terrain to prevent Mewtwo from inflicting sleep or using Rest.
   • Turn 6+: Alternate between Life Dew and Misty Terrain until Mewtwo is defeated.
