New and Returning Pokémon for Violet
Bagon, Shelgon, and Salamence
Bagon is a Generation III Dragon-type Pokémon that has two evolution stages: Shelgon and Salamence. Shelgon is also a Dragon-type and Salamence is a Dragon/Flying-type pseudo-legendary Pokémon.
Eiscue
Eiscue and Bagon (and its evolutions) will be exclusive to Pokémon Violet. Eiscue is a Generation VIII Penguin Pokémon. It is an Ice-type Pokémon and currently it has no evolutions. Eiscue has the Ice Face ability. When Eiscue uses Ice Face and is then hit by a physical move, it takes no damage and transforms into its Noice Face form. Noise Face form has decreases Defense and Special Defense but increased Speed, and it can be damaged by normal attacks. This form will remain even when Eiscue is switched out, but Eiscue will revert back to standard form at the end of the battle.
Ceruledge
Ceruledge the Fire Blades Pokémon is exclusive to Pokémon Violet. It’s a Fire and Ghost type with the Flash Fire ability, which boosts its Fire type attacks when hit by one. It has a new move called Bitter Blades, a Fire-type physical attack that restores Ceruledge’s HP by half the damage dealt to the foe.
Iron Treads
Not much is known about Iron Treads at this stage. The new Pokémon has similarities to Donphan from the Johto region. It has a metallic, robotic body with a tire tread in front. Perhaps a future version of Donphan?
Miraidon
Miraidon is a Legendary Pokémon that appears in Pokémon Violet, featuring on the game’s cover art. You will receive a Miraidon to accompany you during your travels.
Miraidon has multiple forms to suit different traversal needs: Drive Mode for moving fast on land, Aquatic Mode for going across water and Glide Mode for gliding through the air.
