Walkthrough for Horizon Forbidden West's 'The Broken Sky' main quest. Learn how to meet Hekarro, reach The Bulwark, convince the Sky Clan, and defeat the Tremortusk.
Walkthrough
- 1Meet With Hekarro: Travel to the quest marker in ancient ruins on the eastern edge of a jungle. Speak with Dekka and optionally watch hologram visions. Scan datapoints within the ruins, including '73-H Exhibit', 'Black Box Exhibit', 'Causes of the Conflict', 'Feedback', 'Hall of Heroes', 'Items for Collection', 'Man vs. Machine', 'Staff Instruction', 'The Memorial Grove', and 'Tour Script V44.2'. Scan additional datapoints from hologram visions: 'Columbia Drop', 'Gold Mountain', 'Military Life', and 'Nevada Ambush'. After scanning, proceed to the throne room to meet Chief Hekarro and receive the Cleaving Sharpshot Bow.
- 2How to Reach The Bulwark: After parleying with Hekarro, find the 'De La Hoya Exhibit' datapoint to the west-northwest, the 'Medina Exhibit' to the south-southeast, and the 'Faraday Exhibit' to the southwest. Meet Dekka again, who will give you the Cleaving Sharpshot Bow and direct you towards Stonecrest. Override a mount (Bristlebacks can be found to the north) to speed up travel, or proceed on foot, engaging or evading rebels and machines. Upon reaching Stonecrest, talk to Kotallo. Continue towards The Bulwark, encountering rebels. You have the choice to fight them or sneak past. To avoid them, stay off the road and use stealth. If you choose to fight, be aware of Rebel Champions with energy shields similar to Grudda's; hitting them enough will temporarily disable their shields. You will encounter another group of rebels with two Champions further on. After dealing with them, follow Kotallo to The Bulwark. Scan The Bulwark to find a metal object buried in the mountain and climb up for a closer look.
- 3How to Convince the Sky Clan: Confirm your intentions with Kotallo to proceed to The Bulwark. Navigate through the town, with the option to shop. Follow Kotallo to meet Tekotteh. Afterwards, glide north of The Bulwark to an observation point indicated by the quest marker. Head southeast and scan a rocky face to find a metal object. Continue east and then south to a waterfall. Scale the wall to the right of the waterfall, enter an alcove, pry open rocks, and follow the passage to the object you scanned. Scan it again and report to Kotallo, who is north of the lift to The Bulwark. Kill the rebels quietly if possible.
- 4How to Defeat the Tremortusk: Proceed to a search area northeast to find the rebel camp. Before engaging the Tremortusk, consider stealthily eliminating the rebel soldiers around the camp perimeter using Silent Strikes. Scan objects of interest in the area, such as Chillwater Barrels and Log Stockpiles, which can be used to damage the Tremortusk. A Ravager Cannon is located on the western end of the camp. To 'cheese' the Tremortusk, maintain distance, target components with a Sharpshot Bow, avoid attacking when its threat indicator is yellow, and move between patches of grass. In a conventional fight, the Tremortusk is weak to Frost damage. Use weapons and Chillwater Barrels to inflict Brittle status for increased damage. Target the Tusks as weak points to obtain Tremortusk Tusk components. Armaments like Shock Cannons and Plasma Cannons are also weak points that, when detached, will disable the machine's ranged options and allow you to use the detached weapon.
