Walkthrough

Enter the tavern in Chainscrape and talk to Javad the Willing. He will give you a clue about the Bristlebacks.

Head southwest of Chainscrape to the quarry past the old road. You may encounter a wounded Bristleback and potentially Thurlis the Oseram Trapper fighting Scroungers if you haven't finished "The Brink".

Continue towards the quarry, where you will face about six Bristlebacks and a few Burrowers. You can choose to engage or ignore these encounters.

Follow the mountain trail towards Split Crag. Aloy will comment on a downed Bristleback off the road; examine it.

Enter the mine at Split Crag. Follow the linear path until you reach a pit.

Before the pit, turn right (northeast) and follow the path to a cliff. Climb it to enter a larger cavern.

Defeat the two Bristlebacks in the cavern. Use Silent Strikes or Strikes from Above, targeting their Acid Canisters. You can also use Blaze barrels or Concealing Omen fungal pods for an advantage.

After clearing the cavern, loot the area. Head up a ramp to the northwest, then turn left (southwest) and drop into a pit.

Read the parchment in the pit for intel and loot the Generous Cache.

Grapple out of the pit and return to Javad the Willing in Chainscrape to report your findings. The quest will pause until you complete "The Embassy".

After completing "The Embassy", make your way to The Deadfalls, a rebel camp to the northwest.

Clear out the four Rebel Soldiers and five Chargers in The Deadfalls. Use high ground for ranged attacks.

Loot a Generous Supply Cache in the camp to find the Strongarm Hunter Bow.

Proceed to a raised drawbridge in the northeastern part of the camp. Lower it using the wheels and shoot the ropes to create a path forward.

Explore northeast to find a pit that confirms how the Bristlebacks ended up in the Daunt.
