Shadow from the Past: Barren Light 2

After completing the main quest [To the Brink], travel to Barren Light (southwestern corner of the Daunt, southwest of Chainscrape).

Enter the keep, turn left, ascend scaffolding, and talk to Conover and Ybril to start the quest.

Travel east of Barren Light to the indicated clearing (southwest of The Daunt Hunting Ground). Follow the road north, cross a bridge, take the southeastern road at the fork, and look for blood stains to the left near a crane tower.

Examine the blood, use your Focus to find and examine footprints.

Use your Focus to spot another point of interest uphill to the southeast, examine broken branches.

Scan and examine a third point of interest (footprints) to the southwest.

Tag the tracks and follow them until they go cold near some Burrowers. Defeat the Burrowers.

Continue southeast until you find a destroyed Burrower on an asphalt road. Examine the blood near it.

Tag another trail and follow it uphill, across a bridge, and down to a lookout post where you'll find bandages. Examine them.

Tag another trail and follow it up into the mountains to the southeast.

When the trail ends, climb the cliff to the south and enter the cave above.

Inside the cave, search for loot in caches (some in cars) as you head east/southeast.

Advance until you see a squad of Eclipse Cultists. After a cutscene, defeat them. Use stealth if possible, as many patrol predictable routes.

The main threat is the Eclipse Lieutenant, whose mask protects against headshots. Isolate and defeat him.

After defeating the cultists, loot more cars and caches in the second section of the car tunnel.

Scan a datapoint at the southeastern end of the car tunnel to get the Darkened Sun entry.

Loot caches in the eastern corner of the clearing where the Lieutenant was.

Examine the body of the cultist you tracked, found in an alcove north of the electrical tower.

Aloy will intercept a hologram and take an Eclipse Mask.

Return to Barren Light and talk to Conover to exonerate him. This ends the quest and begins [Shadow in the West].
