Hey there! So, you've picked up an Errand called "The Oldgrowth." Sounds a bit spooky, right? Basically, some Utaru hunters got ambushed by a nasty Clawstrider in this forest, and we need to sort it out. Let's get you through it.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Go to The Oldgrowth: After chatting with Shael in Plainsong, make your way north. If you want a bit more context, you can find Ven, one of the survivors, just below the main path.
  2. 2
Clear the Initial Machines: As soon as you enter The Oldgrowth, you'll be jumped by Two Apex Burrowers and Two Apex Scrappers. The Burrowers don't have any elemental weaknesses, so your best bet is to target their Resource Container, Eye, Soundshell, and Body. For the Apex Scrappers, they're weak to Shock Ammo. Try to hit their Plasma Cell at the back for extra damage.
  3. 3
Find the Seed Pouches: Once the area is clear, look for a corpse on a nearby rock. Examine it to grab the Utaru Hunters’ Seed Pouches. After that, activate your Focus (hold R3) to scan for footprints. You'll see tracks – press R2 over them to highlight the path. Follow these tracks, collecting more Seed Pouches from any other fallen hunters you find along the way.
  4. 4
Climb and Fight More Machines: Eventually, you'll reach a cliff. Use the nearby Grapple Point to climb up. Ahead, you'll encounter several Skydrifters. These flying nuisances are weak to Frost Ammo. While they have a few weak points, the Tracking Container/Booster is usually the most exposed and a good target.
  5. 5
Confront the Apex Clawstrider: After dealing with the Skydrifters, head into the Crevice. You'll meet an NPC named Lao. Just as you think you're safe, an Apex Clawstrider shows up! Your best bet is to try for a Stealth Strike first. Then, switch to Shock Ammo and aim for its Resource Container or Razor Tail. Once you've taken down the Clawstrider, have a chat with Lao.
Tips
  • When fighting the Apex Burrowers, focus on their weak points like the Resource Container and Eye.
  • Apex Scrappers are vulnerable to Shock Ammo, so keep that equipped for them.
  • The Skydrifters are best dealt with using Frost Ammo. Aim for their boosters.
  • Don't forget to use your Focus (R3) to track the footprints – it makes following the path much easier.
  • Try to get a Stealth Strike on the Apex Clawstrider before it notices you.
