Learn how to defeat Bella the Dark Vestal in Bravely Second. This guide covers her weaknesses, HP, and strategies to overcome her Heat Wall.

Alright, so you've set up camp again at the Crystalguard Campsite. Yew's trying to get some rest, but wouldn't you know it, trouble shows up again! When you get control back, you'll be in the southeast part of the area, and yep, it's still pouring rain. No helpful exclamation mark this time, so you'll need to find the only way out, which is to the west. Keep pushing forward, even though there are these ghostly spirits trying to block your path – just ignore them and keep moving. You'll enter a new area where you should check out the suspicious red doll near the base of a tree.

Before you know it, you'll be thrown into a fight with Bella the Dark Vestal. Here's the kicker: Yew is too scared to do anything, so just pick any action and go with it. The battle will end pretty quickly after she's had her fun, leaving Yew in a bad spot. Just when it seems like Yew can't fight back, a familiar face shows up to help!

Boss: Bella the Dark Vestal

Stats / Weaknesses:

  • Level: 7
  • HP: 700
  • Weak: Nothing

Bella is your first real boss, but honestly, she's a piece of cake compared to some of the bosses in the previous game. The main thing here is patience. She's got a decent amount of HP, but her attacks aren't too strong. Your job is basically to chip away at her health while keeping your own HP topped up. The biggest thing to watch out for is her Heat Wall. When she casts this, for the next 3 turns, any physical attacks you use will trigger a counter-attack. If you're not sure if Heat Wall is still active, just press Left on the Circle Pad to check her status. While Heat Wall is up, your best bet is to build up BP by Defaulting and use Potions to heal if you need to. If Yew is a Level 2 Freelancer, using Halfsies can heal both Yew and Edea at once. Once the Heat Wall drops, then you can Brave and go all out with your attacks, but try not to drop below -1 BP.

After that fight, you'll get your first job! We recommend changing Yew to a Wizard since his stats lean a bit more towards magic, but honestly, any character can do well in any job. Just make sure at least one character ends up as a Wizard. When you're ready, head back east to the southeast part of the grove and make your way back to the campsite. They say third time's the charm, and this time the path forward will finally be open! You can rest and save with the Adventurer if you like, then head east into the new area.

East

This is the final stretch! From the first junction, head north-east to find an Antidote on the ground. Go back to the junction and head south-east, following the path as it winds around. When the path splits again, go south for a handy Potion. Then, backtrack and head east. The path splits once more down here. First, go north onto the overpass to find a chest with 120 pg. Keep heading east and then follow the path in a north-easterly direction. At the very end, there's a chest containing a Barrel Helm. Finally, exit the area to the south-east.
