bravely second Yokai job guide: learn about Echo, Diabolism, Gluttony, Acid Breath, Avarice, Blizzaja, Firaja, and more.
Walkthrough
- 1Specialty: Echo (Support, 2 slots): After you cast a spell, there is a 25% chance of casting the same spell a second time without expending MP or BP. This ability is too expensive for its unreliability unless you are a Yokai and can afford superior abilities like the Red Mage’s Chainspell.
- 2Level 1: Diabolism Level 1 (Command): Allows the use of Asmodeus’s abilities: Lust (20 MP, 50% chance of charming all foes) and Thundaja (99 MP, ultimate lightning spell dealing impressive damage to all foes, cannot be reflected). Thundaja can be cast cheaply by a ghost using the Red Mage’s MP Free in a Pinch.
- 3Level 2: Awakening (Support, 1 slot): Increases the user’s maximum job level from 10 to 11. After learning a job’s Level 11 ability, that ability can be used or equipped without Awakening equipped. This makes the Yokai job worth training to at least Level 2 to access potentially game-breaking Level 11 abilities.
- 4Level 3: Diabolism Level 2 (Command): Allows the use of Beelzebub’s abilities: Gluttony (20 MP, places all allies in the gluttony state for 6 turns, where damage heals but exceeding max HP causes KO) and Acid Breath (2 BP, deals 2x physical damage to all foes, dropping their Physical Defence and Magical Defence by 75% if it hits). Gluttony can make characters invincible if they can tank hits, but do not heal yourself as it can lead to KO. Acid Breath is best used against 2 or more foes or those with high defense.
- 5Level 4: Diabolism Level 3 (Command): Allows the use of Mammon’s abilities: Avarice (3 BP, steals 1 BP from all foes, but does not work on bosses or similar foes) and Blizzaja (99 MP, ultimate water spell). Avarice is best used when there are 3 or more foes to avoid wasting BP.
- 6Level 5: Diabolism Level 4 (Command, 99 MP): Allows the use of Belphegor’s abilities: Sloth (dispels all buffs and supportive effects from all foes and makes them weak to all elements) and Firaja (ultimate fire spell, outperforming the Black Mage’s Flare).
- 7Level 6: Diabolism Level 5 (Command): Allows the use of Satan’s abilities: Wrath (20 MP, 75% chance of inflicting Berserk to each enemy, boosting their Physical Attack but restricting them to normal attacks) and Three Blades (2 BP, attack on all foes with a 50% chance of inflicting damage equal to half the enemy’s current HP). Three Blades is a physical-based Gravity that targets all foes.
- 8Level 7: Echo (Support, 2 slots): After the user casts a spell, there is a 25% chance of casting the same spell a second time without expending MP or BP. This ability was nice when it was free, but it’s too expensive for such an unreliable ability.
- 9Level 8: Diabolism Level 6 (Command): Allows the use of Leviathan’s abilities: Envy (99 MP, dispels all buffs and supportive effects from all foes and reduces their Physical Attack, Physical Defence, Magical Attack and Magical Defence by 25% for 4 turns) and Consume Life (2 BP, triggers 4 hits on random foes, each inflicting normal damage, with a 50% chance of KOing the foe). Consume Life is a stronger, but more expensive version of the Catmancer’s Death Spiral.
