Learn to play Chompcraft in bravely second, a mini-game unlocked in Chapter 1. Sell plush chompers for 50 cp and upgrade tools.
Chompcraft is a mini-game in bravely second unlocked near the start of Chapter 1. You can access it by opening the Map menu and selecting the chomper icon. In this mini-game, your four party members automatically make plush chomper toys on the top screen, while their finished products appear in the work tray on the bottom screen. Each party member has a specific role: cutting, stuffing, gluing, and finishing.
Plush chompers that you’ve made can be sold for chomp currency (cp). Normally, it takes 20 seconds to make one plush chomper, which you can sell for 50 cp apiece. Occasionally, you’ll make rare plush chompers, depending on the rate rate, which sell for more. The work tray can accommodate up to 24 plush chompers; once the tray is full, you need to sell your plush chompers to clear space for your party members to continue making more.
Snack Time
As your party members work, the Snack Time gauge in the bottom-right corner will slowly fill up. Once it’s full, you can tap it to give your party members a snack, which temporarily improves their parameters until the gauge runs out. You’ll want to carefully monitor the gauge and trigger it as soon as it’s available.
Investing in the Chomp
As you gain cp, you should consider spending cp to upgrade your tools and snacks. To buy upgrades, tap the arrow icon in the bottom-left corner, then the shopping cart icon. A list of available upgrades will appear–tap to buy them or check their details.
From top row to bottom row, the upgrades are:
- Scissors: Increases the amount of plush chompers made per round.
- Stuffing: Improves the sell price (cp).
- Glue: Reduces the time taken (seconds) for each round of plush chomper making.
- Brush: Improves the rare rate (by a small percentage).
- Snack: Increases the performance boost during Snack Time.
- Exchange Rate: Allows you to swap cp for pg.
The first four categories of upgrades are not passive. After buying one of these upgrades, you must actively trigger it by tapping the corresponding tool icon along the top of the bottom screen. Triggering an upgrade will cost additional cp. The upgrade will only apply for a limited duration, displayed as a countdown along the bottom of the top screen and an emptying gauge within the tool icon itself. After the upgrade runs out, you’ll need to tap the tool icon again and pay the corresponding cp cost again. If you’ve upgraded a tool multiple times, you’ll have to tap the tool icon multiple times to trigger the desired level of upgrade. Each time you trigger a particular level of upgrade, the duration of the upgrade will be extended appropriately.
- Sell your plush chompers when the work tray reaches 24 to maximize production.
- Trigger Snack Time as soon as the gauge is full to get the most benefit.
- Prioritize upgrades that increase sell price (Stuffing) or reduce making time (Glue) early on.
- Consider the Exchange Rate upgrade if you need to convert cp to pg.
