Learn all Catmancer special abilities in bravely second, including Vigor Tonic, R.I.P., Slugger, Death Spiral, and Dragonlord Strike.
Vigor Tonic
Increases a character’s BP by 1. Requires Beast Flesh and Catnip. Learn it by charming an Imperial Medic Van (found in Geyser Grotto in Chapter 5 and later) or using the Guardian’s Possession ability on it.
R.I.P.
KOs all combatants who are asleep. Does not work on bosses. Requires Roc Filet and Catnip. Learn it by luring a Hamadryad (found in the Florem region in Chapter 5 and later) into using R.I.P. on a sleeping ally. Ensure other allies wear a Clothespin to stay awake.
Slugger
Has a 50% chance of sending an enemy Out of Battle. Does not affect bosses and cannot be used if there’s only one foe left. Enemies sent Out of Battle do not yield pg, experience, or job points. Requires Leviathan Sashimi and Catnip. Learn it by using the Ninja’s Utsusemi or having a Patissier use Blindling Biscuit on enemies to avoid being KO'd.
Death Spiral
Four hits on random targets that each inflict 0.4 times damage and have a 50% chance to cause instant death. Ineffective against bosses. Requires Cat Feather and Catnip. Learn it from the White Queen (found in Geneolgia Crypts in Chapter 5 and later). To learn it safely, give everyone a Safety Ring.
Battle Royale
Has a 75% chance each of inflicting Berserk to all combatants. Requires Dragon Steak and Catnip. Learn it from the Bahamut Monk (found in Via Celestio in Chapter 5 and later).
Dragonlord Strike
Deals 4 times damage to an enemy. Requires Rare Cheese and Catnip. Learn it from the Bahamut Monk (found in Via Celestio in Chapter 5 and later) by getting hit by its “Majestic Strike”.
Bone Crush
Deals damage to all enemies equal to their lost HP. Doesn’t work on bosses. Requires Dried Remora and Catnip. Learn it from a Skull Lancer (found in the Eisen region in Chapter 5 and later).
Electrolysis
A lightning-based physical attack on all enemies that deals 1 times damage and makes the enemy weak to fire for 4 turns. Requires Monoceros Flakes and Catnip. Learn it from Ba’al iii; Apparati (found in Fort-Lune in Chapter 4 and earlier, and Chapter 5 and later). You can weaken the Ba’al with Buster Ships or simply run away after learning the ability.
- For R.I.P., use Catnap to put enemies to sleep before luring the Hamadryad.
- For Slugger, consider using the Ninja’s Utsusemi to avoid damage while learning.
- For Death Spiral, equipping Safety Rings on all characters is recommended for a safe learning experience.
- For Dragonlord Strike, be aware that the Bahamut Monk’s “Majestic Strike” can KO frail characters.
- For Electrolysis, weaken the Ba’al iii; Apparati with Buster Ships if you are concerned about taking damage.
