This guide details several recommended job builds for Bravely Second, designed to optimize gameplay for various roles and strategies.

Adventuring Pro

This build can be applied to any job and is suitable for multiple characters. Key abilities include Freelancer’s Divining Rod and Dungeon Master, Astrologian’s Precognition, and Merchant’s More Money. Freelancer abilities aid in exploration by revealing remaining chests and hidden items, and by negating dungeon traps and terrains. Precognition prevents enemies from ambushing the party, and More Money increases income. These abilities, except for More Money, are generally less useful in boss battles and can be swapped for combat-focused abilities.

Part-Time Spellcrafter

To maximize the Wizard's Spellcraft ability, it's recommended to pair it with another magic-based job as a secondary or assign Spellcraft to a different magic job. Spellcraft abilities like Mist and Blast can affect the entire party, beneficial for buffs with Astral Magic or healing with Holy or White Magic. Offensive spells, such as Black Magic, can also benefit from abilities like Rain.

All-Purpose Attacker

This build focuses on the Fencer and Hawkeye jobs. Assign Hawkeye as a secondary job to a character in the Fencer job. Fencers excel at dealing damage and self-buffing by alternating between Wolf Fang and Goring Aurochs. Hawkeyes offer various benefits for physical attackers, including elemental damage and the ability to bypass defense and Default.

BP Farmer

Each party member should equip the Red Mage’s BP Recovery and ideally be in jobs with low Mind. One character should be a Patissier with Status Ailment Amp and Items For All, or in a high Intelligence job with Patissier as a secondary. The Patissier can use Poison Pastry three times on the party, followed by a Remedy or White Mage’s Esunaga. Each poison application grants 1 BP, allowing characters to gain 3 BP and Brave three times per turn.

Crazy Ranger

For an easy grinding method, assign Ranger as a primary or secondary job to all party members, equip Red Mage’s BP Recovery, and gear for Physical Attack. Use Berserk on all characters to maximize Physical Attack, causing them to attack randomly. Berserk also triggers BP Recovery, granting 1 BP. If the party can defeat enemies in four attacks, this strategy can be chained indefinitely.

Counter-attacking Ninja

This build is effective against most physical bosses. A Ninja should have Transcience, possibly Comeback Kid, Red Mage’s Turn Tables, and Swordmaster’s Counter Amp. Start by using Utsusemi to guarantee evasion of one physical hit. When attacked physically, the Ninja gains 1 BP and retaliates with a counter-attack if the hit was single-target. This provides an additional BP on the next turn, allowing for another Utsusemi and an extra action.
