Think of them like a stingray with tentacles, and their whole deal is to grab you and... well, eat you. It's a pretty instant death if they get their grip, so we need to be ready.

The key thing to know is that they tend to surface and grab you from a distance. If you can keep your distance, they'll eventually rise up out of the water to make their move. This is your prime opportunity! When you see it starting to surface, that's your cue to unload your best weapons. Ideally, you want to have your rifle or magnum upgraded for maximum damage. Aiming upward and firing right as it jumps can work, but honestly, it's super risky. It's much safer to just blast it as soon as it exposes itself.

If you're having trouble with the timing or just want an easier way, grenades are your best friend here. Tossing a shock grenade or even a regular hand grenade into the water where you know it's swimming can take it out. The shock grenade is especially good because it detonates the moment it hits the water's surface, making it super reliable.

Now, if you happen to encounter one while you're actually swimming underwater, they'll try that same grab attack. The good news is you can surface for air and heal up if you take damage.
