Unlock the secrets of Pokemon Emerald's Battle Frontier! Discover item listings, move tutors, valuable prizes from Scott, and unique Pokemon encounters like Sudowoodo and Smeargle.

You can fly to the Battle Frontier. Upon entering the building, you will receive a free Frontier Pass, which replaces a page on your Trainer Card and displays your Battle Points, earned Symbols, and a map of the area. Continue north to a more open area, then head east towards the Pokemon Center and Pokemart.

Pokemart Item Listing:

  • Calcium ($9800)
  • Carbos ($9800)

Above the Pokemart and Pokemon Center are three houses. The house on the right features a man who discusses your top Pokemon's nature and advantages. The house on the left has children explaining the Battle Frontier. To find the move tutors, start at the Pokemon Center, go west to find three northern paths, take the middle one north to some steps, then go left of the steps to a small house. Inside, two old ladies teach moves in exchange for Battle Points.

From the move tutors' house, go up the stairs to reach the Battle Dome. Continue east to a small house where you will find Scott. He awards prizes for accomplishments:

  • Winning 50 Battles: Silver Shield
  • Winning 100 Battles: Gold Shield
  • Win All Silver Symbols: Lansat Berry
  • Win all Gold Symbols: Starf Berry

The Shields are decorations for your secret base. East of Scott's house is a small building where a girl will trade you a Meowth for a Skitty. Continue down in front of the large Battle Tower. Enter the building to its left to find vendors who exchange Battle Points for prizes.

East of the Battle Tower vendors, past the steps, is a pyramid structure. You will pass a house containing your Battle Frontier records. South of the pyramid is a small house in an alcove where you can gamble Battle Points if you have at least 3 Silver Symbols. Continue south to find an old lady near a Level 40 Sudowoodo. You will need the Wailmer Pail from Route 104 to battle it. Sudowoodo is a Rock-type with good Attack and Defense. Knocking it out prevents another encounter, so wear it down and try to inflict sleep or paralysis before attempting to catch it.

To explore further, head south from Sudowoodo's location and surf. Go down the waterfall and surf left to find a platform with a cave entrance leading to the Artisan Cave. The only Pokemon here is Smeargle, which can copy moves using Sketch but has poor stats. If you lack Waterfall to return, use Fly. Alternatively, find the ladder in the northeast corner of the Artisan Cave to exit. Near the exit, pick up the Carbos. Back outside, jump the ledge to return near the records house. You can now explore the seven Battle Frontier facilities.
