Navigate the luck-based Battle Pike in Pokemon Emerald. Learn how to interpret NPC clues, strategize against Pike Queen Lucy's Pokemon, and earn Luck Symbols.

The Battle Pike is a unique facility in Pokemon Emerald, heavily influenced by luck. To reach it, travel east from the Battle Factory and take the northern path on the right. The building is distinctively shaped like a Seviper.

Within the Battle Pike, every other room presents you with a choice of paths. Each path leads to either a beneficial or detrimental event. If you're uncertain about which path to choose, speak to the woman in the room. She offers cryptic clues about the paths (middle, right, or left).

Here's a breakdown of her messages and their likely outcomes:

• "A trainer? I sense the presence of people...": This path may lead to a trainer battle or, less likely, a room with a person who heals your Pokemon.
• "I seem to have heard something...": This could result in a double battle against two trainers or finding an empty room, offering a brief respite. The double battle is more probable.
• "Distinct aroma of Pokemon wafting around it...": This suggests the next room might contain a challenging trainer or a maze-like area with wild Pokemon. The maze is more likely.
• "I felt a wave of nostalgia coming from it...": This is a warning. DO NOT take the path she refers to. It's highly likely to result in your Pokemon being attacked senselessly and potentially inflicted with status conditions. While a healing NPC might be present, it's best to avoid this path entirely.
• "A terrifying event, yes, a horrible one, is about to befall you...": This indicates you will face the Battle Pike's boss, Queen Lucy.

You earn Battle Points after clearing every 7 rooms. After clearing 14 rooms, Queen Lucy will appear. One of the paths you take before facing her will heal your Pokemon.

First Encounter with Queen Lucy:

• Seviper (Poison) - Attacks: Poison Fang, Swagger, Giga Drain, Crunch. Item: Quick Claw. Weak to Psychic and Ground.
• Milotic (Water) - Attacks: Surf, Ice Beam, Recover, Mirror Coat. Item: Leftovers. High Special Defense. Beware of Mirror Coat against Grass and Electric attacks. Use strong physical attacks.
• Shuckle (Bug/Rock) - Attacks: Toxic, Sandstorm, Protect, Rest. Item: Chesto Berry. Extremely high Defense and Special Defense, but low Attack and Special Attack. Vulnerable to Water-type attacks but still a challenge.

Defeating Lucy the first time earns you the Silver Luck Symbol.

Second Encounter with Queen Lucy (after clearing 70 rooms):

• Seviper (Poison) - Weak to Psychic and Ground.
• Gyarados (Water/Flying) - Weak to Electric (Thunderbolt recommended).
• Steelix (Ground/Steel) - Weak to Water, Fire, Ground, or Fighting.

Defeating Lucy in this second encounter earns you the Gold Luck Symbol.
