After defeating the Elite Four in Pokemon Emerald, retrieve the remaining fossil (Claw or Root) from the Desert Underpass and get a Rare Candy.

You may remember picking up either the Claw Fossil or the Root Fossil from Mirage Tower earlier in your journey. The other fossil was lost in the sand. Now that you've defeated the Elite Four, you can retrieve it.

Walkthrough

    Fly to Fallarbor Town.

    Head west onto Route 114.
  3. 3
    Enter the house on Route 114.

    Continue north through the house to find an opening leading to the Desert Underpass.

    Navigate through the Desert Underpass to the far right.
  6. 6
    Pick up the remaining fossil (either the Claw Fossil or the Root Fossil).

    Take the fossil to the Devon Corp. Building in Rustboro City to have it resurrected.

    Exit the Desert Underpass and return to Route 114.

    Head west on Route 114 to find a body of water.

    Surf onto the water and proceed to the waterfall.

    Use the move Waterfall to ascend the waterfall.

    Collect the Rare Candy at the top.

Desert Underpass Pokemon:

  • Ditto (Very Common)
  • Whismur (Common)
  • Loudred (Uncommon)

Ditto: Ditto is a unique Pokémon that can transform into any Pokémon it faces in battle, gaining their moves but not their stats. It is excellent for breeding, as it can breed with any Pokémon outside of the "No Eggs" Egg Group, despite being genderless.

Tips
  • Bring Repels or Max Repels for the Desert Underpass, as you will encounter many wild Pokémon.
