Walkthrough
  1. 1
Heal your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center.
  2. 2
Talk to the man left of the Pokemon Center; say yes to receive a King's Rock (evolves Poliwhirl into Politoed and Slowpoke into Slowking when traded).
  3. 3
Enter the house left of the Pokemon Center to find a boy who knows your secret base location.
  4. 4
Visit the house above the Pokemon Center to learn about your lead Pokemon's Pokeblock preference.
  5. 5
Go to the house south of the Pokemart to access mini-games with friends.
  6. 6
From the Pokemart, head east and down the first set of stairs to pick up a Net Ball.
  7. 7
Go back up the stairs and head east to find another set of stairs. Talk to Scott, who is to the right.

  10. 10
Note the space center to the right of the fishing guru's house, where Team Magma is active, but cannot be dealt with yet.
  11. 11
Head north of the Pokemart to find the Pokemon Gym.

Pokemon Gym - Tate & Liza (Psychic-type)

The gym features double battles and a puzzle involving switches and statues to reach warp panels.

  1. Gym Trainers & Puzzle:
    • The gym's trainers are Psychic Preston (Kirlia L36, $864) and Psychic Maura (Kadabra L36, $864). Stepping on the yellow switch triggers a double battle against both.
    • In the next room, you'll find Psychic Blake (Girafarig L36, $864) and Psychic Samantha (Xatu L36, $864). Use the yellow switch to align trainers for a double battle.
    • After moving the statue, proceed through the new path. You'll find two warp panels; ignore them and warp back to the starting area.
    • From the gym's entrance, take the warp on the left. This will trigger a yellow switch.
    • You'll arrive in front of Gentleman Clifford (Girafarig L36, $864) and Hax Maniac Kathleen (Kadabra L36, $864), resulting in an unavoidable double battle.
    • Proceed past the purple switch. Head south to a green switch. Step on it twice to move statues to your left.
    • Go back up to battle the last trainer you missed. You will have tripped the switch a second time.
    • Find the warp panel near Psychic Nicholas (Wobbuffet L36, $864). Before using it, step on the switch twice, then use the warp panel.
    • You will return to an area with a warp panel to the left; take it.
    • In this room, step on the blue switch to initiate a double battle against Psychic Virgil (Ralts L36, $864) and Gentleman Nate.
  2. Boss Battle: Tate & Liza
    • After defeating all trainers and navigating the gym, you will face Gym Leaders Tate and Liza.
    • Gym Leaders: Tate & Liza
    • Pokemon Types: Psychic
    • Recommended Types: Ghost, Bug, Dark
    • Not Recommended Types: Fighting, Poison
    • Strategy: This is a double battle. Focus on using strong moves that hit both opponents. Consider Pokemon with moves that can exploit their weaknesses.
Tips
  • The Pokemart sells Dive Ball, Full Heal, Hyper Potion, Max Repel, Net Ball, Revive, Ultra Ball, X Attack, and X Defend.
  • The King's Rock is useful for its flinch chance and for evolving specific Pokemon.
  • The Super Rod is essential for catching higher-level Pokemon.
  • Pay close attention to the switches and statues in the gym to navigate the puzzle correctly.
  • Double battles require careful strategy; ensure your Pokemon have moves that can hit multiple opponents or exploit weaknesses effectively.
