Learn how to navigate the Safari Zone in Pokemon Emerald, find the Max Revive, and access Areas A and B using your Mach Bike.

Alright, so you've got the Mach Bike and you're ready to explore some new parts of the Safari Zone. This guide will help you find your way to Areas A and B, and snag a handy Max Revive along the way.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
When you first enter the Safari Zone, head west. Keep going west until you reach a path. The signboard at the top left of your screen should say "Safari Zone." You'll find yourself in Area B.
  2. 2
Once you're in Area B, head west again until you come across the first patch of grass. Keep heading west from there, and you'll eventually find a pool of water.
  3. 3
If you surf across this pool of water, you'll find a Max Revive! Make sure to pick it up.
  4. 4
After grabbing the item, get back on the land and travel all the way north until you reach a steep slope. This is where your Mach Bike is essential. Use it to ride up the slope and reach the next area.
  5. 5
This next area is Safari Zone Area A.
Tips
  • Area B has water, so you can fish and surf there. The only Pokemon you'll find surfing is Psyduck, which evolves into Golduck and can learn useful moves like Surf and Ice Beam.
  • Fishing in Area B with any rod (Old, Good, or Super) can yield Magikarp and Goldeen.
  • Area A also has water. You can surf to find Psyduck (Very Common) and Golduck (Rare).
  • Fishing in Area A can also get you Magikarp and Goldeen with the Old and Good Rods. The Super Rod has a chance for Goldeen (Very Common) and Seaking (Common).
  • Rhyhorn is a notable Pokemon in Area A, a Rock/Ground type that evolves into Rhydon with good Attack and Defense, though it's slow. Pinsir is also found here, a Bug type that might need TM help to shine.
  • You might need to visit the Safari Zone multiple times to access all available areas at your current point in the game. Areas E and F will be accessible later, after beating the Elite Four.
