Navigate the Seafloor Cavern in Pokemon Emerald. This guide details Team Aqua's plot, trainer battles, boulder puzzles, and the confrontation with Archie and Kyogre.

This is where Team Aqua is present, and their leader Archie is trying to wake up a legendary Pokemon. You'll need strength and rock smash to get through this area.

Walkthrough

    Head left and follow the path to a boulder. Use Rock Smash on the rock above it. Push the boulder up one space to where the rock was, opening a path.

    Head through the new path and push the boulder to the right. Head north and battle the Team Aqua Grunt (Poochyena, Level 36).

    Head up the steps and battle the next Team Aqua Grunt (Carvanha, Level 36).

    Go through the entrance to your south. Head down south and push the top boulder to the right twice. Push the bottom boulder down one space. Use Rock Smash on the rock in your way.

    Go through the new path and the next entrance. Jump over the ledge and battle the two Team Aqua Grunts (Zubat, Level 36 and Carvanha, Level 36) for a team battle.

    Jump over the top ledge to your right and go through the opening to your north.

    Push the boulder in front of you twice. Get to its right and push it to the left. Push the boulder it was blocking north three times.

    Use Rock Smash on the rock to the right and push the boulder to the right twice. Go through this opening.

    Surf across the water, taking the current pointing to the right. Ride the current on your right to a blank spot. Take the top current to calm water.

    Ride the current above you to another area of calm water. Head north onto the land without touching any currents and go through the opening.

    Battle the two Team Aqua Grunts (Mightyena, Level 35 and Golbat, Level 35) and Aqua Admin Shelly (Sharpedo, Level 37 and Mightyena, Level 37) for a team battle.

    Go through the opening above you. Solve the boulder puzzle: Move boulders A and C up one space. Move boulder B left at least once. Enter the gap between A and C, move boulder G up one space. Move boulder F left and boulder H right. Push boulder J up one tile. Push boulder K up one tile. Push boulder G left or right to create an opening.

    Step through the entrance. Head right to find TM26: Earthquake.

    Continue down the steps to find Archie. After the cutscene and Kyogre escapes, battle Archie (Mightyena, Level 41; Crobat, Level 41; Sharpedo, Level 43).

    After the battle, you will be taken outside.
Tips
  • Use Fighting or Bug-type moves against Archie's Mightyena.
  • Use Electric, Ice, Psychic, or Rock-type moves against Archie's Crobat.
  • Archie's Sharpedo has very low defense; most attacks will be effective.
