Basics

When inside your business, you can develop your Site by going to the Notice Board to change the Business Type and size. You can also do repairs to a damaged site; a damaged business makes less money. The minimum cost to repair a business is $500 and the maximum is $1,500.

Each business serves as a Save Point. Outside your business, you can recruit gang members by targeting them (with a melee weapon or fist) then pressing the R3 Button (PS2) or D-Pad Up (PSP).

All money from owned businesses is automatically paid at 16:00 (4 PM) daily.

Business Types, Size, and Vehicles

There are three initial Business Types: Prostitution, Loan Shark, and Protection Racket. Drugs, Robbery, and Smuggling Business Types are unlocked after the mission "From Zero to Hero." To unlock these, you must take over a business of that type from a rival gang. Ensure at least one Robbery, one Smuggling, and one Drug Business are on the map before attempting to acquire them.

Important: Do not take over Drugs, Robbery, and Smuggling Businesses on the East Side until *after* completing "From Zero to Hero." Doing so prematurely will permanently lock you out of at least one Business Type, preventing 100% Completion. It is best to leave these businesses on the West Side alone until the East Side is open.

Some business types are more profitable. Currently, Prostitution yields the most income.

Businesses have three sizes: Small-Time, Medium Venture, and High-Roller. Larger businesses generate more income and are less likely to be attacked. Convert all businesses to High-Roller as soon as possible.

Upgrading to High-Roller businesses earns new Outfits for your Safehouses: Leisure (Prostitution), Repo-Man (Loan Shark), and Hired Muscle (Protection Racket).

Each Business Type has a unique vehicle parked outside:

  • Prostitution: Polaris V8
  • Loan Shark: Admiral
  • Protection Racket: Idaho
