Complete the Stealing the Past sidequest in final fantasy xv by finding the Magitek Core in Pitioss Ruins and earn 50,000 EXP.

To find the entrance to Pitioss Ruins, travel to Verinas Mart - Ravatogh and speak with the tipster to receive information that will place a new marker on your map to the north. Look north and slightly west of your current location on the map to find a yellow strip, which is where you will need to land the Regalia. It is imperative that you land during the daytime, as spotting the strip at night is nearly impossible. Descend slowly to ensure a safe landing.

The Stealing the Past sidequest can be started in Lestallum. You only need to acquire the Magitek Core to complete it.

The area surrounding Pitioss Ruins contains dangerous enemies, including Soldier Wasps (level 37), Regaltrices (level 44), Royalisks (level 62), a Kingatrice (level 70), and Malbodooms (level 85). The path to Pitioss Ruins is near the Malbodooms. While there is a camping spot nearby, it is not recommended for use as entry to Pitioss Ruins is only permitted at night. Some enemies in this area may not be found elsewhere, making them valuable for those seeking a challenge or specific sidequest objectives.

Upon reaching the structure that serves as the entrance to Pitioss Ruins, you must jump over a small gap. Afterward, you will find a worn-down gate with a small gap to jump through. Before entering, look in the corner to find an item on the ground: a Magitek Core. Picking this up will complete the Stealing the Past sidequest and reward you with 50,000 EXP.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Once nighttime arrives, you can enter the secret dungeon by activating the switch on the main door. Pitioss Ruins is unique as it contains no enemies and no combat. The dungeon is entirely focused on platforming and puzzles, with several items available within that cannot be found elsewhere. It is recommended to equip daggers on Noctis, as their air attack can provide extra distance, potentially saving you trouble or allowing you to skip sections, though no jumps explicitly require them.
  2. 2
As you descend via elevator, you will pass a ledge with two items: a Rusted Bit and 2 Elixirs. If you miss them on the way down, take the elevator back up to retrieve them.
  3. 3
Drop down to where the elevator was (if it's at the top) and find a hole. Follow this path downwards and around, jumping over gaps and onto wall-mounted ledges until you reach an item: 4 Oracle Ascension Coins. From here, you can either jump into the pit to respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death) or jump to lower areas.
  4. 4
Before proceeding further into the dungeon, note that saving is not possible inside Pitioss Ruins; you must exit the dungeon to save. Red barriers within the dungeon act as shortcuts, unlocked by destroying statues encountered throughout. You cannot permanently die in Pitioss Ruins; falling into pits or hitting spikes will cause you to respawn at a checkpoint (an auto-save point you restart from on death).
  5. 5
In the first main room, you will see a large iron ball between two ramps, a large door opposite, a statue, and moving blocks. Go towards the large cage and retrieve the item on this side: a Rusted Bit. Then, grab the next item in the path of the first moving block: 5 Potions.
  6. 6
When the first moving block recedes, take the revealed path past it, then wait for the second moving block to pass before proceeding. Follow this path, jumping over pits, and ascend a ramp to find your first shortcut.
  7. 7
Strike the statue a few times with any weapon until it disappears. Go up the ramp it reveals, collecting a Rusted Bit along the way.
  8. 8
Continue up the next ramp. Before reaching the top, a beam sticking out from the west ledge contains 10 Metal Scraps.
  9. 9
Return to the top and ignore the barriers you cannot open yet. Jump across the gap to another barrier and collect the Rusted Bit here. Look at the item visible on a small ledge along a bent-up cage. You can jump onto this narrow ledge to grab the item, which is a Metal Scrap.
  10. 10
Notice the white button on the nearby incline, but do not interact with it yet. Around the corner, hug the cage while jumping to land on another narrow ledge. From here, leap to the opening next to it to grab another item: 6 Potions.
  11. 11
Look north to spot another ledge sticking out from the wall and a very narrow beam beyond it. This jump is tricky, and the item on the beam is 7 Mega-Potions.
  12. 12
Drop down from the Mega-Potions onto another beam below.
