Wiz's Sidequests

Complete Chapter 2 and drive to Coernix Station - Alstor. Prompto will suggest visiting the Wiz Chocobo Ranch south of the station. Talk to Wiz, who reveals an aggressive behemoth named Deadeye must be dealt with. Accept the hunt "A Behemoth Undertaking" from Wiz (who acts as a Tipster). Venture into Deadeye's lair and slay him. This quest ends, and Chocobos become available.

After completing "Friends of a Feather" and unlocking Chocobo rentals, Wiz will ask you to find a wild Chocobo in Deadeye's lair. Return to the lair, find the bird, and run into it to have Prompto take a picture for Wiz.

After "Where the Wild Chocobos Are," Wiz asks you to find a sick Chocobo. Travel to the Cauthess Rest Area to the south-west (discovered earlier when gathering map intel from Wiz). Head south into the wilderness to the quest marker. Interact with the ailing Chocobo and give it a Potion.

After "Bird on the Brink," talk to Wiz to accept this quest. You need to bring Wiz an Aegir Root. Aegir Roots can be found north of Galdin Quay (in the crook of the U-shaped road), east of Aldare's shop in Galdin Quay, or in the Ostium Gorge area north-west of the Brackham Haven Campground.

Talk to Wiz again for another Chocobo rescue mission. Travel to The Three Valleys in Leide. The wounded bird is east of the central (western-most) valley, near collapsed machinery. Examine the bird, defeat the attacking Saberclaws, and give the Chocobo a Potion.

After "Chase That Chocobo!," this quest becomes available in Chapter 8 after completing "A Precious Source of Power." Travel to the Wiz Chocobo Outpost. Wiz needs you to rescue a rare Black Chocobo. Go to The Vesperpool, near the Capitis Haven Campground. Head north-west, past large rocks, then across another road until you find the egg near the shore. Fight off the attacking Sahagin. Collect the egg and return it to Wiz. After some time and completing other activities, Wiz will call you. Return to the Wiz Chocobo Outpost to see the hatched Chickabo.
