Guide to The Phoinix (P3N) in final fantasy xiv endwalker. Learn mechanics like Experimental Fireplume, Scorched Exaltation, and Sunbird handling.
Walkthrough
- 1Phase One Mechanics: Focus on Experimental Fireplume and Darkened Fire.
- 2Experimental Fireplume: If Phoinix has a large fire orb, it casts an instant large AoE. Run to the arena edge to avoid losing 50% health and a vulnerability stack. If Phoinix has smaller fire orbs, it casts multiple AoEs. Run to the center underneath Phoinix for the initial AoEs, then be ready to run out for the final one.
- 3Scorched Exaltation: This is a potent raid-wide AoE dealing major damage. Pure healers should pre-cast Medica II or Aspected Helios. Shield healers should pre-cast shields. Use defensive cooldowns if not at full health.
- 4Heat of Condemnation: Phoinix targets both tanks with a tankbuster AoE. Tanks must separate from each other.
- 5Darkened Fire and Brightened Fire: Phoinix summons four Darkened Fires. Four party members receive black markers and must go to separate Darkened Fires. The rest of the party must stay away from them. Phoinix casts Brightened Fire on marked players and Darkened Blaze on Sparkfledged.
- 6Right/Left Cinderwing: Phoinix casts an AoE on half the arena. For Right Cinderwing, stand on its left side. For Left Cinderwing, stand on its right side.
- 7Trail of Condemnation and Flare of Condemnation: Phoinix becomes untargetable and flies to the arena edge, then flies across breathing fire in a line AoE. Move to either side to avoid it. During this, Phoinix may cast Flare of Condemnation on each party member, indicated by a purple circle AoE marker. Spread out to avoid stacking damage.
- 8Phase Two Mechanics: This is an add phase with Sunbirds while Phoinix charges its Phoinix Fire gauge. If it reaches 100%, the party wipes.
- 9Sunbirds: Two Sunbirds spawn initially. Each tank grabs one and takes it to the opposite side of the arena for DPS to burn down. Sunbirds cast Fore Carve or Rear Carve (cleaves in front or behind). After the first two are defeated, they leave light circles. Two more Sunbirds spawn; tanks take them to the opposite side of the arena, but away from the light circles, creating a safe spot in the center. Burn down these adds, then move to the center for Phoinix’s ultimate attack, Dead Rebirth.
- 10Blazing Rain: Phoinix rains fire, dealing minimal raid-wide damage. This can be negated by AoE regen heals like Medica II.
- 11Phase 3 Mechanics: Introduces new mechanics.
- 12Fledgling Flight: Phoinix places large AoEs in each quadrant. They resolve in the order Sparkfledged were placed. Stand on the last placed Sparkfledged, then move to the safe spot after the first AoE resolves.
- 13Experimental Charplume: Every party member is targeted with an AoE. Spread from the party to avoid overlapping damage.
- 14Devouring Brand: Fire lines cross the arena, forming a plus shape (+). Have at least one party member in each quadrant. Phoinix casts a Darkened Fire after this attack (not the first time).
- 15Searing Breeze: Phoinix casts several medium-sized AoEs. Keep moving to avoid them. If cast during Devouring Brand, it appears in two quadrants as Devouring Brand finishes. Run to the center immediately after Devouring Brand ends.
Tips
- For Experimental Fireplume with smaller orbs, be ready to move out of the center for the final AoE.
- Healers should be prepared for the heavy damage of Scorched Exaltation.
- Tanks must maintain distance during Heat of Condemnation.
- When handling Darkened Fire and Brightened Fire, ensure marked players go to separate Darkened Fires.
- Positioning is key for Cinderwing attacks; always stand on the opposite side of the indicated attack.
- During Trail of Condemnation, be aware of the line AoE and spread for Flare of Condemnation.
- In Phase Two, focus on burning down Sunbirds quickly and positioning them correctly to create safe spots.
- For Fledgling Flight, pay attention to the order of Sparkfledged placement to determine safe zones.
- Experimental Charplume requires immediate separation from the party.
- During Devouring Brand, ensure all quadrants are covered, and be ready for the subsequent Darkened Fire.
- Stay mobile during Searing Breeze and quickly move to the center after Devouring Brand if Searing Breeze is also cast.
