Training Mission:
For new players, the Training mission is recommended. It serves as a tutorial and introduces UNATCO and the game's world. You begin with no skills or equipment. The first room resembles the shootout in The Matrix. Unlock the North door. In the next room, you'll find NPCs; the right one is Jaime Reyes, your Infolink instructor, and the left is an unknown UNATCO official.
Part 2
Complete Deus Ex Remastered Part 2 walkthrough covering training, augmentations, and security bot encounters.
- 1Grab the TRAINER DOOR NANOKEY and proceed through the West door.
- 2In the next room, collect the CROWBAR and COMBAT KNIFE. Search the two supply crates for LOCKPICKS.
- 3In the following room, find the DataCube with code 0012 and enter it into the Keypad to the North.
- 4In the next room, take a MULTITOOL and use it on the Keypad.
- 5In the subsequent room, find the MEDICAL ROOM NANOKEY on an unconscious colleague. You can pick up and move the body if you are not holding anything.
- 6Navigate through the dark room and the room with a Repair Bot by jumping across platforms and climbing a ladder.
- 7In the water room, equip the HAZMAT SUIT to swim across. Speak with Joseph Manderley and use the Medical Bot to heal.
- 8After Gunther Hermann takes over, grab the PISTOL and press the Switch. Practice aiming and reload with 10MM AMMO.
- 9Gunther will raise your Weapons: Rifle skill. You can attach a Scope to other weapons later.
- 10Learn about proximity mines called LAMs, which can also be thrown as grenades. Be careful when placing them on walls; ensure JC's hand alters its grip before releasing. Your Torso Health will not fall below 10. Raising your Weapons: Demolition skill increases the time to pocket armed grenades.
- 11Anna Navarre will then test you. Wait for the Trooper in the East corridor to walk towards you and turn around. Follow him while walking or crouched. When he turns left, proceed to the North exit. Use Lab Flasks to distract Troopers by throwing them to create noise. Enemies also respond to light.
- 12Jaime Reyes contacts you for the final test involving a Page Industries Bravo-3 Peacebringer security and patrol bot. Bots have a line of sight but no hearing. You cannot die during this test.
- 13Find a CROWBAR in the Southeast corner near barrels. Cardboard boxes and barrels do not contain items.
- 14Between three barrels near the Eastern Wall, find a DataCube with the code for the bridge: 0089.
- 15In the Northeast corner, find a PISTOL. Use it to shoot TNT Crates. Bots are almost immune to bullets.
- 16Further Northeast, find a crate with a MULTITOOL. Break the crate with a weapon.
- 17Destroy the Bot by placing a TNT crate in its path and shooting it when the bot is near.
- 18To cross, use a TNT crate as a jumping point onto Cardboard boxes to the South, then walk over pipes. Use a Multitool or the 0089 code to lower the bridge.
- 19Stack crates and other items to reach the window.
- 20Push a protruding brick in the wall between the UNATCO Trooper hologram and the bot hologram to open a secret room to the North. Press the Switch inside.
- 21Leave to the West for a final hologram with Bob Page.
- A Lockpick can open doors with 5% Door Strength or less.
- A Multitool can bypass 10% of a Keypad Strength at Untrained.
- Aim improves the longer you hold still; train your Weapons: Pistol skill for faster and better aiming.
- You can reload the Pistol with 10MM AMMO cartons.
- Your Weapons: Rifle skill can be raised by Gunther Hermann.
- You can attach a Scope to other weapons in the future.
- If you face the wall wrong when placing a LAM, JC will throw it against the wall.
- Raising your Weapons: Demolition skill increases the time you have to pocket armed grenades.
- Troopers can see you when you are in their line of sight and hear you if you run within a certain distance.
- Enemies respond to light.
- Bots do not have hearing but do have a line of sight.
- You can use a Multitool or the 0089 code to lower the bridge.
- You can stack crates and other items to reach the window.
- Push a protruding brick in the wall between the UNATCO Trooper hologram and the bot hologram for a secret room.
Part 3
Complete Part 3 of the Deus Ex Remastered walkthrough for Liberty Island, New York City, including skill points and primary goals.
- 1Upon starting, you receive 5000 skill points. It is recommended to invest in Lockpicks, Hacking (for computers, security terminals, and ATM Machines), and Demolitions for protection against LAMs. You will always start with basic proficiency in Pistols, and it is advised to invest further. You will retain 1175 skill points for later investment.
- 2Djibriel's First Time Player Pick: Set Computer, Lockpicking, Swimming, and Demolition to Trained.
- 3Note that there is a bug where downgrading the Pistol skill refunds 1575 skill points. However, as the Pistol skill starts at Trained, this bug is not utilized in the standard JC Denton build.
- 4Your 'Real Name' has minimal impact on the story; characters will refer to you as JC Denton.
- 5Your UNATCO colleague, Alex Jacobson, contacts you. After a brief moment, your brother Paul will find you.
- 6You will complain about your starting equipment: one MEDKIT, one RIOT PROD, and one PISTOL. Paul offers a choice between a SNIPER RIFLE, a G(uided) E(xplosive) P(rojectile) GUN, and a MINI-CROSSBOW. The GEP Gun is recommended as the Sniper Rifle and Crossbow are easily found shortly after.
- 7Corporal Collins will inform you about Gunther, an agent captured after disobeying orders.
- 8Consult the Satellite Photo of Liberty Island; you are at the South Dock and must travel to the North Dock to meet the UNATCO contact for access to the Liberty Statue Ruins.
- 9On the docks, you can find a CROWBAR.

- One of UNATCO's top agents is being held inside the Statue. Break him out, and he'll back you up against the NSF.
- The intro sequence features many NPCs and locations that will appear later in the game.
- The phrase "Aquinas spoke of the mythical city on the hill. Soon that city will become a reality" is a reference to a Bible line about being the light of the world.
Part 4
Explore Liberty Island in Deus Ex Remastered, find items like the Baton and Crowbar, and learn the UNATCO comm van code 0451.
- 1Near the docks, bash three crates to find 4 DARTS for a Minicrossbow, a PROD CHARGER with 4 charges, and 6 rounds of 10MM AMMO.
- 2After leaving the docks, turn right towards the back entrance of the Lady of Liberty, but another route is recommended.
- 3Ahead, you will encounter NSF troopers; you can avoid them or engage them. If they pursue you, head towards the dock where the UNATCO patrol bot and Paul will eliminate them.
- 4Loot a BATON from a UNATCO trooper's body near the docks.
- 5The Combat Supply Crate to the left when leaving the docks contains a GAS GRENADE.
- 6Open the hatch labeled 'UNATCO MEDLAB' on the lowest metal container using a Lockpick to find a MEDICAL BOT that restores Health and can install Augmentation Canisters.
- 7If you go East, you can find a PEPPER GUN on a UNATCO body and a MULTITOOL in a crate.
- 8Further East, listen to an NSF conversation about Gunther Hermann.
- 9Head North from the dock towards UNATCO headquarters.
- 10On the way, take the MINI-CROSSBOW and Tranquilizer Darts from the remains of an NSF terrorist.
- 11Speak with Tech Sergeant Kaplan patrolling UNATCO headquarters. If you say you plan to 'clean the place out', he will provide the location of ammo and the comm van code: 0451.
- 12Kaplan offers to sell: SCOPE MOD (a community-made modification that changes the game) for 700 credits, 10MM AMMO (5x) for 200 credits, and TRANQUILIZER DARTS for 60 credits. Purchase the Tranquilizer Darts as they are cheap and useful.
- 13In the back, near the UN-001 satellite, find a CROWBAR and a General Supply Crate containing a MULTITOOL.
- 14Open the comm van using the code 0451 or a Multitool.
- 15Inside the comm van, find TRANQUILIZER DARTS and the Security Computer Terminal. A Datapad beneath the desk provides login details: Login: SATCOM, password UNATCO_001. Use the terminal to set 'Door Status' to Open to open the antenna shaft and/or 'Door Access' to Unlocked. Be aware the terminal consumes Bioelectric Energy.
- 16Behind the comm van, find a crate with a LOCKPICK and the UNATCO COMPOUND HATCH NANOKEY.
- 17Use hacking or the Nanokey to enter the previously locked antenna shaft.
- Adjacent crates near the start contain a LOCKPICK and BINOCULARS.
- Following metal stairs into the water near the start yields a MULTITOOL and a BIOELECTRIC CELL in two crates.
- The Baton is a great weapon for silent, non-lethal takedowns and opening crates.
- The UNATCO MEDLAB hatch is only strategically necessary if you are critically injured.
- If you already took the Crossbow from Paul, the NSF terrorist's body will not have one.
- The code 0451 is a reference to the first code in System Shock, which itself references Fahrenheit 451.
- The comm van and compound were modeled after a high-security satellite communications station.
