    From the start, backtrack to the shed to find a corpse.

    Head down the path behind you and up the stairs. Kill the Fiend to your right.

    Go back to the door and enter to face Honda Tadakatsu.

BOSS ENCOUNTER: HONDA TADAKATSU

This fight is a gimmick. Instead of fighting Honda directly, destroy the three purple crystals in the arena. Destroying all three ends the fight.

Strategy:

  • Use Sloth Talismans or buff yourself with Attack Pills and other Talismans to make destroying crystals easier.
  • Honda will attack with boulders or charging attacks. Angle yourself between him and the crystal.
  • Each crystal can be destroyed in two attack sequences if buffed.
  • After destroying the two ground crystals, head up the stairs to find the third crystal. Honda will not follow you here; only watch out for his rock toss.
  • Destroyed crystals remain destroyed even if you die.

After the fight, gather loot. Note the inaccessible door up the stairs. Continue through the next door to see another large purple crystal in an inaccessible room. Several samurai in this area are possessed.

Head left and break junk to loot a corpse. Go down the ladder, break items, and proceed to the hallway.

You will encounter Ryunoshin the Dung Lover, a non-hostile NPC who requests dung balls. Giving him 30 Dung Balls and Noble Dung Balls earns the "Dungball Roller" Bronze Trophy.

To farm Dung Balls:

  1. Return to the First Shrine.
  2. Apply buffs (Fire Talisman, Attack Pills, Rejuvenation Talisman) before entering the muck. Kill the Flan (Mudman) to the left.
  3. Head straight, Sloth the Giant Warrior (if possible), and kill the Flan in the room to the left.
  4. Climb the ladder, reapply buffs (especially fire), and enter the right room. Let the Skeleton fire at you, then kill the Flan here and another dropping from the ceiling.
  5. Run straight, go through the doors on the right, and return to the first shrine.
