Nioh Part 18 walkthrough: Learn how to defeat the boss Nue, find the East Gate Key, and deal with Oni Imps.

Walkthrough

    Head away from the river to find and defeat a patrolling fiend.

    Locate and defeat another patrolling fiend.

    Defeat the Dweller near the right house. Loot 4 corpses in this area once all enemies are dead.

    Head back to the pond. On the way, find an ONI IMP (a small, fast enemy that steals Amrita and can transform into a regular ONI) behind the last house on the right. Defeat it, preferably with a musket shot, and loot the corpse.

    Kill the ONI patrolling the area.

    Head to the far west corner (left of the main gate). In the back, fight and defeat a Ninja. Loot the corpse for the EAST GATE KEY and the BIG CHEST.

    Return and look right around the corner. Defeat another IMP.

    Explore where the IMP was to find a SWORDSMAN KODAMA behind a shrine. Loot the nearby corpse.

    Climb the tree to get on the roof of the building. Walk around the roof to find and kill a Ninja, then loot the corpse. Continue around the roof to find a CHEST.

    In the northeast corner, carefully jump/roll to a building below to find another corpse.

    Go back down the tree and head towards the path leading back to the start of the map (right of the pond).

    Kill the Dweller on the left if you haven't already.

    Defeat another IMP standing by the path, ideally with a headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill).

    As you approach the gate, defeat the Fiend, loot the corpse, and open the gate to create a shortcut back to the first SHRINE (a place to save and restock).

    With the EAST GATE KEY, return to the locked gate encountered earlier and open it.

    Inside, loot the corpse behind the tree and find a SHRINE. Save and restock.

    Exit the shrine and battle the SENTRY (a statue enemy). Observe its sword swings (down, then up) and horizontal swings. Counter after its up-swings. Defeat all four Sentries and the IMP at the top of the area to safely access the BIG CHEST.

    Prepare for a boss fight. Equip any LIGHTNING RESISTANCE gear you have. Head out the gate and into the shrine area on the right.

    Enter the boss arena to trigger the BOSS ENCOUNTER: NUE.

Tips:

  • Oni Imps are dangerous; use headshots if possible and be ready to deal with them quickly.
  • The fall to the northeast building can be tricky; jump and roll.
  • The Sentry enemies have powerful swings; wait for openings to counter-attack.
  • For the NUE boss fight, patience is key. Focus on dodging its lightning attacks.
