Part 39

After a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) depicting Tommy's past as a taxi driver, you gain control of his taxi. A car is chasing you, and gangsters inside are shooting.

Your objective is to shake off the pursuing car. The attacking car will ram your taxi and shoot at the occupants.

Warning: You fail the mission if anyone in Tommy's cab dies. The wounded man starts with 79 Health, while Tommy and Sam have 100 Health.

To shake off the pursuers, turn frequently, drive through narrow spaces, and narrowly miss obstacles. Try to prevent the attacking car from paralleling your taxi to limit their shooting opportunities.

When the attacking car crashes, speed away or brake and turn sharply in the opposite direction.

Once you successfully evade the car, Sam will exclaim, "Great--we made it." The wounded man will then instruct you to drive to Salieri's Bar, providing directions via a compass that appears in the upper left of your screen. A pocket watch in the upper right corner will begin a ten-minute countdown.

Salieri's Bar is marked on the Map (Tab). It will appear as a blue arrow until you are close, then as a blue X. On the radar (a large dial in the upper left), it is indicated by a red X when you are near. A useful shortcut is the north-south alley between the "A" of "LITTLE ITALY" and the "a" of "Salieri's" on the Map.

Upon reaching Salieri's Bar, a cutscene will play where the wounded man thanks you and tells you to wait while Sam gets you a payment from Mr. Salieri.
