This section covers various aspects of gameplay in Mafia: Definitive Edition, including combat tactics, vehicle destruction, health restoration, and vehicle maintenance.

Combat Tips: When encountering enemy gangsters in black vehicles, equip the Thompson 1928. Park your vehicle to block their path without collision. Approach the driver's door, aim at the driver and passenger, and eliminate them quickly before they can react. Be aware that nearby gangsters will join the fight if you engage others.

Blowing Up Vehicles: Destroying vehicles with weapons yields $100 per vehicle. Aim for the grill, engine, or gas tank from a safe distance. Grenades or Molotov Cocktails ($1,000 each) can also be used for destruction. Creating traffic jams to blow up multiple vehicles can help offset the cost, potentially turning a profit if gangsters are inside.

Restoring Health and Repairing Vehicles: Tommy can restore his Health to 100% for $1,000 at New Ark Hospital. Vehicle repairs cost $2,000 at Lucas Bertone's auto shop. For free repairs, drive between the city and the country. Gas costs $500 for a full tank in Freeride mode. Damaged vehicles may consume gas faster. To save a valuable vehicle, consider saving the game after repairs and refueling, or reloading if it gets seriously damaged.

Hidden Freeride Cars: Several unique vehicles can be found in Freeride mode, indicated by white lines on the radar:

• Silver Fletcher (Pierce Silver Arrow): A fast, four-seater with good handling, found by the lighthouse in the southeast corner.
• Bolt-Thrower Red: A stylish car with good speed and handling, but a soft top. Obtain it by shooting a specific window on the West Marshall Bridge and then heading to an alley near the East Marshall Bridge.
• Bolt Truck: A utility truck located southwest of the east corner of the westernmost block in the Works Quarter.
• Bruno Speedster 851 (Auburn Speedster 851/852): A fast, two-seater with good handling but no roof. Available after mission 15 in an alley between 'L' and 'S' of 'CENTRAL ISLAND' on the map.
• Lassiter V16 Appolyon: A larger, heavier fast two-seater with good handling, but no roof. Found in the winding north-south alley in the western part of the block north of... (description incomplete in source).
