The original Command & Conquer features distinct special abilities and superweapons for both the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of Nod. These powerful tools can turn the tide of battle when used strategically.

GDI Special Abilities & Superweapons

• Orbital Ion Cannon: A powerful, long-range bombardment that can target any area on the map. Requires significant power and a GDI Command Center.
• Superweapons: GDI's primary superweapon is the Ion Cannon, which can be upgraded to fire more rapidly and with greater destructive power.

Brotherhood of Nod Special Abilities & Superweapons

• Chemical Weapons (Nod Virus/Tiberium): While not a direct superweapon, Nod can utilize Tiberium-based weapons and tactics that spread and damage units and structures over time.
• Superweapons: Nod's primary superweapon is the Nuclear Missile Silo, capable of launching a devastating nuclear strike on a targeted area. Requires a Nod Command Center and significant resources.
