- 1Domination Victory: Be the last player with control of your original capital city. If you lose your capital, you can still win if you recapture it, provided you have not set the game to automatically lose when your capital is captured.
- 2Science/Spaceship Victory: Research the necessary technologies to build spaceship parts, construct them, move them to your capital city, and launch into space. This is a late-game victory that requires protecting spaceship parts during transit.
- 3Cultural Victory: Be the first to fully research 5 different social policy branches and then build the Utopia Project.
- 4Diplomatic Victory: Build the United Nations and secure a majority of votes during periodic votes. Ally with city-states to gain their votes. You can also fight and liberate enemy civilizations to earn their votes.
- 52050 Victory: Achieve the highest score by the year 2050. Score is determined by tiles controlled, cities, population, technologies researched, future technologies, and the number of Wonders built.

- Losing your capital does not automatically mean defeat in Domination if you have the appropriate game setting enabled; recapturing it is key.
