Hey there! Ready to dive into another unique Civ V experience? This time, we're checking out Nigeria, led by the formidable Awolowo. This is a custom civilization from Colonialist Legacies, so make sure you've got the Brave New World expansion installed! ### Overview Nigeria, as a nation, is all about growth and culture. Think of a rapidly growing population and rich resources, especially oil. It's a multicultural place with a vibrant scene, and historically, it went from being a British colony to an independent nation in the 1960s. Now, it's poised to be a major player in Africa. Awolowo himself was a key figure in Nigeria's push for independence. He wore many hats: teacher, journalist, lawyer, and politician. While he never quite reached the presidency, he was the Premier of the Western Nigeria region and a strong opposition leader. He was even the first to be named Leader of the Yorubas. Dawn of Man: The intro for Awolowo really sets the stage. He's all about modernization, education, and empowering his people. He founded newspapers, built TV stations, and championed free education and healthcare. The goal is to guide Nigeria to learning, happiness, safety, and prosperity. * Introduction: "Alas, we have another grand nation in our midst! I am Obafemi Awolowo, leader of the Nigeria - A country built upon the ideals of freedom and prosperity befitting the heritage of the Hausa empires that came before me." * Defeat: "Our nation lies in ruins, and as the Leader of the Yorubas it seems that I have failed. I fear not, for I know that Nigeria's strength was fueled by diversity - something of which your empire will now have to embody wholeheartedly if you'd want to survive in this new world." ### Unique Attributes Nigeria (Awolowo) comes with some really cool unique stuff: * Giant of Africa: This is your main economic and growth booster. You get bonus Food and Faith equal to the number of Citizens in a city every time a new Citizen is born there. That's huge for growing your cities quickly! Plus, once you discover Biology, any uncleared Marsh tiles in your territory have a chance to turn into Oil. Keep an eye on those marshes! * Yan Lifida (Knight replacement): This unique unit gives you a +15 Production boost. It's a strong unit that also helps your economy, which is always a win.
