World 8-Final Castle

This level requires 100 Star Coins to unlock. You start riding a vehicle that rolls down a steep incline. Collect coins at the start while dodging numerous fireballs.

Note: Left and right sides of the vehicle are from Mario's perspective facing forward.

  1. Move to the front-right corner of the vehicle until the first four fireballs pass. Quickly run to the back-left corner until you pass the two fireballs there.
  2. Move to the middle of the back. Let the first row of three fireballs pass. Run immediately toward the front-center of the vehicle and jump just before passing the Star Coin, grabbing it and avoiding a fireball. Run to the very front-center of the vehicle.
  3. Star Coin Alert! #1: From the middle of the back, after turning the corner, let the first row of three fireballs pass. Run to the front-center and jump to grab the Star Coin while avoiding a fireball. Then, move to the very front-center of the vehicle.
  4. Move to the center of the vehicle and wait for the Firebar. Jump southwest over it, then west over the next bar. Jump onto the platform on your right and grab the coin.
  5. After a short pause, run off the platform onto the cracked blocks to the north. Jump along them to the end, then jump onto the platform to your right.
  6. Star Coin Alert! #2: Wait for the next platform to drop, then jump on it. Wait for it to move up, position yourself under the Star Coin in the center, and jump to grab it.
  7. Ensure the platform to your right has dropped, then jump down to it. Jump off onto the next vehicle, which will move north over lava geysers.
  8. Dodge the incoming fireballs by moving to the far left or right corners and weaving. Walk between the fireballs instead of running to manage speed and direction changes.
  9. Star Coin Alert! #3: Stay at the far corners and weave through the gaps in the fireballs. Move from the first gap toward the center, back out, and back toward the center again. The Star Coin is near the end of the wave. At the last central fireball, jump over it to grab the Star Coin above as the fireball passes beneath you. Focus on the shadow of the Star Coin to time your jump.
