Navigate the treacherous Mansion in Resident Evil with our detailed walkthrough. Learn enemy tactics, item locations, and puzzle solutions to survive.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
After speaking with Barry, proceed through the far door to encounter your first zombie. Shoot it until it falls, then aim down and shoot it again to make it stand up. Collect the clips.
  2. 2
Return to Barry. A zombie will burst in and Barry will deal with it. Proceed to the Main Hall.
  3. 3
Barry will give you a lock pick. Go through the blue doors. Move the steps next to the statue to collect the map. Move the desk away from the door and enter. Deal with the zombie on the floor, collect the ribbon, and exit.
  4. 4
Proceed down the corridor. Shoot the dog that bursts through the window (approx. 5-6 shots).
  5. 5
Around the corner, shoot the second dog. Exit through the door.
  6. 6
Ignore the bathroom door (unless you are Chris and need the cabinet key). Continue down the corridor to two doors. The left door contains the shotgun (for Jill; Barry will save her from the trap). Do not enter if you are Chris yet.
  7. 7
Go through the other door and kill the two zombies. Go through the Grey Door and kill the zombie by the stairs. Collect the green plant if needed.
  8. 8
Enter the door to find a save room. Save your game, deposit items, collect the Earth, and exit.
  9. 9
Go upstairs. Kill the zombie to your left and the one behind you. Go through the door at the end of the corridor.
  10. 10
Shoot the zombie and turn right into a study. Examine the Botany book and leave.
  11. 11
Head along the corridor, past the green doors you cannot enter yet. Shoot another zombie and find two more doors. Enter the unlocked door.
  12. 12
You are back in the Main Hall. Barry (Jill only) will give you bazooka ammo.
  13. 13
Go to the door next to the one you just exited. Investigate the body to find the bazooka (Chris finds clips). Do not kill the crows. Exit and go across the hall to the other door.
  14. 14
You are on the balcony above the Dining Room. Kill the two zombies. Push the stone statue off the balcony and go through the far door.
  15. 15
Kill the two zombies by the stairs, then go down the stairs. Kill the two waiting zombies and go through the door at the bottom.
  16. 16
Inside is a save room. Save your game. (Chris meets Rebecca here; choose 'Yes' for her to prepare medicine and help later, or 'No' for her to prepare medicine but not assist later). Collect the ribbon (Chris gets a key) and save.
  17. 17
Exit and continue down the corridor, encountering another zombie.
  18. 18
The door on your right contains a clip, shotgun shells, and a rusty shotgun (Chris needs this to get the actual shotgun). You cannot enter yet.
  19. 19
Go through the other door, shoot the zombies, and head down the narrow corridor towards the plant room.
  20. 20
In the plant room, put the Earth in the pump to kill the plant and collect the key behind it. Use green plants if injured.
  21. 21
Return to the rusty shotgun room and collect the items (Chris uses the rusty shotgun to get the new shotgun).
  22. 22
Go back through the doors and turn right.
  23. 23
Enter the bedroom on your right. Collect the clip from the bed. A zombie will burst from the cupboard when you investigate the desk.
Tips
  • Aim for the head to conserve ammo and practice headshots.
  • Use the environment to your advantage, like kicking zombies down or off ledges.
  • If playing as Jill, the shotgun is a significant upgrade.
  • If playing as Chris, remember to collect the rusty shotgun to upgrade to the regular shotgun.
  • Conserve healing items unless absolutely necessary.
  • The save rooms are crucial for managing your inventory and saving progress.
