After solving the previous puzzle, proceed through the door to the Plant 42 boss room.

Head up the stairs and continuously shoot Plant 42 with Incendiary Shells. It can poison and constrict you with vines, but should otherwise be an easy fight. Approximately 10-12 Incendiary Shells are needed.

Alternate Way (Jill's Campaign):

Before entering Plant 42's domain, pick up the Lighter and clear three item spaces.
Enter the Employee Lounge. Locate and light the red lamp in the corner. Note its color and the symbol. Repeat this for the green lamp in the bar area and the orange lamp by the pool table.
Study the pool balls: Red is 3, Orange is 5, and Green is 6.
Travel to the Gallery. Examine the keypad next to the first door on the left and enter the code based on the lamp colors and pool ball numbers.
Inside, grab three empty bottles. Fill one with water at the sink. Fill a second bottle with UMB No. 3 from the yellow jar and mix them to create NP-004. Collect Yellow-6 and mix it with NP-004 to create UMB No. 10. Collect more water and Yellow-6, mix them for UMB No. 7. Combine UMB No. 7 and UMB No. 10 to create VP-017. Finally, collect more UMB No. 3 and mix it to create the V-Jolt chemical.
Travel to the basement and make your way to the control room (using the Water Rooms is recommended).
Go up the ladder and out the door. Eliminate the beach shark with a single handgun shot if desired, though it will only attack if provoked.
Enter the Guard Room next to the shark and walk into the plant's roots. The roots will not damage you.
Use the V-Jolt chemical on Plant 42 and discard the bottles.
When you enter Plant 42's main area, Barry will arrive and finish off the plant, saving you ammo and health.
