ENTERING THE TUNNELS

Detailed walkthrough for Resident Evil, guiding players through the initial stages of the mansion, combatting zombies and dogs, and finding key items like the shotgun and map.

Walkthrough:

1. After speaking with Barry, proceed through the far door to encounter your first zombie. Shoot it until it falls, then shoot it again to ensure it's dead. Collect the ammo clips.
2. Return to Barry. A zombie will burst in and Barry will deal with it.
3. Proceed to the Main Hall. Barry will give you a lock pick. Go through the blue doors.
4. In the next room, move the steps next to the statue to collect the map. Move the desk away from the door and enter. Collect the ribbon on the shelf.
5. Exit and go through the other door. A dog will burst through the window; shoot it.
6. Around the corner, another dog awaits; kill it and proceed through the door.
7. The first door on the left is a bathroom. If playing as Chris, drain the water and find a cabinet key.
8. Continue down the corridor to two more doors. The left door leads to a room with a shotgun. If playing as Jill, enter and collect it; Barry will save you from a trap. Chris should not enter this room yet.
9. Go through the other door to encounter two more zombies.
10. Go through the Grey Door, kill the zombie by the stairs, collect the green plant, and enter the save room. Save your game, deposit items, and collect the Ink Ribbon and any other items.
11. Exit the save room and go up the stairs. Kill the zombie to your left and the one behind you.
12. Go through the door at the end of the corridor. Shoot the zombie and enter the small study. Examine the Botany book and exit.
13. Head along the corridor, past the green doors you cannot enter yet. After shooting another zombie, find two more doors. Enter the unlocked one to return to the Main Hall.
14. If playing as Jill, Barry will meet you and give you bazooka ammo.
15. Go to the door next to the one you just exited to find the bazooka, guarded by crows. Investigate the body to find the bazooka (Chris finds ammo clips). Do not kill the crows.
16. Exit and go across the hall to the other door, leading to the balcony above the Dining Room. Kill the two zombies.
17. Push the stone statue off the balcony and go through the far door. Kill the two zombies by the stairs and go down.
18. Kill the two zombies at the bottom of the stairs and go through the door. This is a save room. If playing as Chris, Rebecca will appear; choose whether to accept her help. Collect the ribbon (Chris gets a key) and save.
19. Exit and continue down the corridor, encountering another zombie.
20. The door on your right contains items and a rusty shotgun (Chris needs this). You cannot enter yet.
21. Go through the other door, shoot the zombies, and head down the narrow corridor towards the plant room.
