Alright, let's tackle Route 20! This area isn't super complex, but there are a couple of useful items and a cave entrance to be aware of. We'll grab what we can before moving on.

Walkthrough

First off, you'll encounter a Pokemon Ranger. Be ready for a battle! They've got a Level 32 Foongus (Grass/Poison) and a Level 32 Leavanny (Bug/Grass). Take them down!

Right after the battle, just east of the Pokemon Ranger, you'll spot an item. It's a Sticky Barb. Grab it – it's handy for annoying opponents.

Now, head back to the bit of land you were on and Surf west. You'll reach the entrance to the Cave of Being. You can go in and check it out, but honestly, there's not much to do here until you've beaten the Pokemon League. If you've already cleared the game, you can head straight to the Post-Game Walkthrough section for details on the Cave of Being.

If you're not quite ready for the cave, or just want to explore more, head back to the top of the waterfall. Don't go down it, though! Instead, move to the land just north of the waterfall's edge.

Jump over the first ledge you see. Once you've landed, whip out your Dowsing MCHN. Use it to track down a Big Mushroom. It's a nice little find!

That's pretty much it for Route 20! If you messed with your DS's internal clock for any reason, now's a good time to set the date back to the correct one.

Tips

The Cave of Being is mostly for post-game content, so don't worry too much about it right now if you haven't beaten the Elite Four.
