Learn how to participate in Pokémon Musicals in Nimbasa City, choose the right Pokémon and Shows, and master appeals to win!

Alright, so you've made it to Nimbasa City in Pokémon Black 2 and White 2! Tucked away in the northeast part of town is a building that hosts Pokémon Musicals. If you played the original Black and White, these might ring a bell. Basically, you pick a Pokémon, dress it up with cool accessories called Props, and then it dances and puts on a show!

To get started, head to the building and talk to the woman at the center counter if you want to join in with the game's characters, or the one on the left if you're looking to play with friends nearby using Wireless or infrared. Just a heads-up, you can't do this over Wi-Fi.

When you decide to enter a Musical, the first big choice is which Pokémon you'll use. The most important thing here is how many 'slots' your Pokémon has for Props. More slots mean you can deck your Pokémon out with more accessories, which is generally better. Humanoid Pokémon often have more slots, but it's worth checking, as some non-humanoid ones might surprise you!

Next up is picking your Show. There are four main Shows to choose from, each with its own style. You can even download more via the Global Link if you're feeling adventurous!

  • Stardom — This show is all about being Cool.
  • Forest Stroll — Perfect for a Cute performance.
  • A Sweet Soiree — This one's for an Elegant vibe.
  • Exciting Nimbasa — For a show that's all about being Unique.

Once you've picked your Show, it's time for the fun part: dressing up your Pokémon! You'll see a dressing screen where you can place Props. Each Prop has one or two spots it can attach to and a specific style. Your goal is to match the Prop's style to the Show's style. Try to fill up as many Prop slots as you can with matching styles, but here's a pro-tip: leave just one slot open and put a Prop of a different style in it. This little trick actually makes your Pokémon perform better and increases your chances of winning!

After you've finished dressing up your Pokémon, the Musical begins! It lasts about a minute, and your main job is to make 'appeals' to the audience. You'll see two 'appeal' buttons on the bottom corners of your bottom screen, assuming your Pokémon has Props on both arms. You can hit these anytime to grab the audience's attention.

Pro-Tip: The absolute best time to use an appeal is when the spotlight is on your Pokémon – they're already the center of attention! The more attention you get, the better your score. Be careful though, because other Pokémon in the Musical can 'steal' attention by using their own appeals right after yours. To avoid this, a really smart move is to save your second appeal for the very end of the Musical. That way, nobody can steal the spotlight from you!

If you nail the dressing and the appeals, you're pretty much guaranteed to win! Winning gets you access to more Props from the people in the Musical building, making future performances even easier. You can also find other Props scattered around, but the Musical building is your best bet.
