Learn about Battle Subway formats, rewards, and boss battles in pokemon black white 2. Earn Battle Points (BP) for prizes.

Battle Format:

In the Battle Subway, you select a number of Pokemon for your party based on the chosen battle type. All participating Pokemon are set to Level 50, regardless of their original level. Certain Legendary Pokemon are banned from use. Trainers you face will have the same number of Pokemon as you, also set at Level 50. You battle consecutively until you lose, retire, or achieve a specific win count. In Normal versions, this is 21 consecutive battles. Super and Wi-Fi versions continue indefinitely. Your Pokemon are healed between battles, and you have the option to retire.

Banned Pokemon:

A list of banned Pokemon, primarily Legendaries, is available. You cannot use these Pokemon in the Battle Subway.

Participation Rewards:

Rewards are in the form of Battle Points (BP), which increase with further progression. BP can be exchanged for prizes at counters in all Train Lines except the Brown Train Line. The left and right women at each counter offer different wares, but the selection is the same across all counters. BP is not earned linearly, except in Wi-Fi battles. You earn BP every seven consecutive wins within a single attempt. BP earned from the Pokemon World Tournament and Battle Subway are interchangeable and can be spent at either location for identical prizes.

Battle Points Awarded:

The amount of BP earned depends on your number of wins and the battle version:

  • 7 Wins: Normal - 3 BP, Super - 5 BP, Wi-Fi - 10 BP
  • 14 Wins: Normal - 6 BP, Super - 11 BP, Wi-Fi - 20 BP
  • 21 Wins: Normal - 16 BP, Super - 18 BP, Wi-Fi - 30 BP
  • 28 Wins: Normal - -, Super - 26 BP, Wi-Fi - 40 BP
  • 35 Wins: Normal - -, Super - 35 BP, Wi-Fi - 50 BP
  • 42 Wins: Normal - -, Super - 45 BP, Wi-Fi - 60 BP
  • 49 Wins: Normal - -, Super - 75 BP, Wi-Fi - 70 BP

Battle Types:

Single Battle: You use one Pokemon at a time against an opponent using one Pokemon at a time.

Double Battle: You use two Pokemon at a time against an opponent using two Pokemon at a time.

Multi Battle: You and a partner (either a local friend via wireless or the other main character) team up against two trainers, with each of you controlling one Pokemon in a Double Battle format. If playing with the other main character, you can suggest a play-style for their party, though they choose the Pokemon.

Wi-Fi Battle: You participate in Single Battles against trainers downloaded via Wi-Fi.

Super Versions of these battle types are more difficult due to stronger opponents. After defeating the Pokemon League, the Super Version unlocks for the Normal Version you've beaten.

Subway Boss Battles:

The 21st battle in Normal Version types is against a Subway Boss (or both if in Multi Battle). The 49th battle in Super Version types is also against a Subway Boss (or both if in Multi Battle) and is significantly tougher. You can continue battling after defeating the Super Version boss.
