Navigate and utilize the Keeper control panel effectively. Learn about dungeon view, map icons, payday, research, and creature management.
The control panel in Keeper provides essential information and management tools for your dungeon. The left pane displays your dungeon view, indicating the four cardinal directions relative to your map's rotation, helping you orient yourself and always find north. A dotted line points back to your Dungeon Heart for easy location. Around the map, you have five options: the Map icon for the overall land map, the 'C' key to toggle computer assistance, the 'Q' key for game options and quitting, and the '+' and '-' keys to zoom the mini-map.
Below the dungeon view is a panel with five tabbed sections:
| Tab | Description |
|---|---|
| Info tab (Question mark) | At the top, toggle 'Imprison' and 'Flee' options (requires a Prison). Below this, you'll see the remaining time until the next payday, when your creatures must be paid. The total amount due is shown in red. Two more gauges track research progress for new spells and manufacture progress for traps/doors. Four tabs below show active Keepers in the region, detailing their room and creature counts. The bottom of this tab has a '?' query option; clicking it turns your cursor into a '?' to get information on creatures (friend or foe) and automatically centers the screen on their movement. |
| Room tab | Displays buildable rooms. Raised icons indicate built rooms, while '?' icons represent rooms needing research in the Library. The bottom-right icon allows you to sell rooms by changing your cursor to a '$' icon. |
| Spell tab | Shows all researched spells. '?' icons represent spells that still need to be researched. |
| Manufacture tab | Lists researched traps and doors. Traps are in the top two rows, doors in the third. The '$' icon can be used to sell traps (which yields some money) and doors. |
| Creature tab | Organizes your creatures by activity: idle (left), working (center), and fighting (right). Clicking a number selects creatures from that activity. Right-clicking changes the view to that creature. Clicking an icon selects the most experienced creature of that type. |
