Helldivers 2 is a game that doesn't hold your hand, often leaving players to figure out its mechanics and terms on their own. This guide aims to clarify common terms and explain essential in-game actions like pinging.

Super Citizen Status is a cosmetic title that appears next to your name in-game. It offers no gameplay advantages and can only be obtained by purchasing the Super Citizen Edition of the game or the corresponding upgrade pack. If you have purchased these and haven't received the status or associated bonuses (like the Steeled Veterans Warbond), you are not alone. Many players have reported similar issues. The recommended solution is to continue playing and restart the game; the status often appears after several hours. Arrowhead Game Studios is expected to release a fix for persistent issues.

Pinging and Marking Locations are crucial for team coordination, especially when playing with strangers or if you prefer not to use voice chat. These actions alert your fellow Helldivers to specific enemies, objectives, or points of interest.

Controls for Pinging and Marking Locations on PC

To ping a location (enemy, objective, or general area), look at it with your mouse and press the Q key. A temporary ping will appear for about 6 seconds.

To mark a specific location on the minimap:

1. Press Tab to open the minimap.
2. Hold down the right mouse button.
3. Move the mouse to navigate the map.
4. Click the left mouse button to place a marker. This marker remains until a new one is placed.

To ping a location, press R1 + D-Pad Up.

To mark a location on the minimap:

1. Open the minimap using the Touchpad.
2. Use the joystick to navigate to the desired spot.
3. Press the Cross button to place a marker.
