Learn how to defeat Carrot, a challenging Elite Mark hunt in Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. Get tips on strategy, weaknesses, and rewards.

Alright, so you're looking to take down Carrot, huh? This is one of those Elite Mark hunts from Clan Centurio, and it's definitely not a pushover. You'll find the petitioner, Zammadria, hanging out in Nalbina Fortress's aerodrome. Once you accept the hunt from Montblanc, head over to The Salikawood.

Now, here's a crucial bit of info: Carrot is super shy. If you so much as *look* at any other enemies in The Salikawood before you find her, she'll spook and you won't be able to find her at all. Seriously. Your best bet is to either turn off all your Gambits until you reach the Sun-dappled Path area, or just hold down the 'flee' button until you get there. Don't mess this up, or you'll have to go back and try again!

Strategy

This Malboro is no joke. It's got some nasty tricks up its sleeve, like Time Requiem which inflicts Stop, and Putrid Breath that can hit you with all sorts of ailments. It can also cast buffs on itself with Hero’s March and even cure your debuffs with Purify. Honestly, Carrot is pretty strong, so you might want to consider coming back a bit later in the game when you're stronger.

When Carrot's health drops to about half, she'll use Growing Threat, which doubles her level and cranks up her attack and defense. That's when things get really hairy. Make sure you've got a good supply of Remedies to clear those nasty status effects, or even better, a Ribbon if you're coming back much later. Having Dispel on a Gambit is also a lifesaver to strip away her buffs. It really makes the fight much more manageable.
