Guide to the Barheim Passage (Part 1) in final fantasy xii, including the Lightworks and Op Sector 29. Learn about Burrogh, the Tube Fuse, and Battery Mimics.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Head downstairs from your starting point in the ruins to find a Save Crystal. Save your game and recuperate.
  2. 2
Return upstairs to the east to find a small chamber with three chests. The left chest contains 2,510G. The southern chest may contain a Balance Mote. These chests do not respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death).
  3. 3
Continue downstairs to find the Bangaa merchant Burrogh. He sells tier 2 weapons like the Cypress Pole, Silver Bow, Capella, Iron Hammer, and Mage Masher. He also sells accessories such as the Bangle and the Argyle Armlet, which prevents Blind and halves Dark attack damage.
  4. 4
Burrogh also sells new magicks: Poisona (White Magick 2), Vox (White Magick 2), Immobilize (Time Magick 1), and Dark (Arcane Magick 1).
  5. 5
He offers over thirty new Gambits for 1,500G (50G each), including "Foe: HP = 100%" and "Self" target Gambits. These will also be sold by other merchants later.
  6. 6
Examine the switch on the wall east of Burrogh; it will not work.
  7. 7
Head back upstairs to the Save Crystal and go east to a wooden bridge leading south to a pylon. Interact with the "Timeworn Device" on the pylon.
  8. 8
Return downstairs and speak to Burrogh again to receive the necessary **Tube Fuse**.
  9. 9
Go back upstairs to the power relay and install the Tube Fuse. The charge meter will show 100%.
  10. 10
Backtrack downstairs and activate the Gate Switchboard near Burrogh to open the gate, consuming 30% energy.
  11. 11
If the energy gauge drops below 50%, you will encounter lesser undead like Skeletons and Zombies. If it drops below 30%, you will also face Skull Defenders and Specters.
Tips
  • The Argyle Armlet is recommended as Blind is a common hazard. Eye Drops are an alternative.
  • The "Foe: HP = 100%" Gambit can be used to target undamaged foes with Steal.
  • Selling specific loot like Rat Pelts, Bat Fangs, Fish Scales, Horns, Demon Eyeballs, Glass Jewels, and Dark Stones at the Bazaar can unlock new items. For example, selling Bat Fang (x1), Rat Pelt (x2), and Dark Stone (x2) unlocks the Bow and Bodkin (Shortbow) for 400 gil. Selling Demon Eyeball (x2) and Molting (x3) unlocks the Eye Drop Set (Eye Drops x3) for 100 gil. Selling Wolf Pelt (x2), Tanned Hide (x1), and Dark Stone (x2) unlocks Assorted Leathers (Leather Breastplate, Leather Headgear) for 300 gil.
  • Battery Mimics drain the charge meter. They have a fair amount of HP.
