What's the big deal with the secret mode?

Basically, you're unlocking a mode that makes the game look and feel like a genuine 1930s cartoon. It strips away the color and adds some neat audio filters to really sell that retro vibe. It's a fantastic way to experience the game again, especially if you're a fan of that classic animation style.

How to find and unlock the Black and White mode:

Your main quest giver for this is a friendly turtle you'll find chilling on the docks in World 3. When you chat with him, he'll spill the beans about a special bonus if you can beat all the platforming levels without taking down any enemies. This is your cue!

You'll need to replay all six of the game's platforming stages: Forest Follies, Treetop Trouble, Funfair Fever, Funhouse Frazzle, Perilous Piers, and Rugged Ridge. The trick here is to go through each of these levels without firing a single shot at any enemies. If you manage to pull this off, you'll notice the flag at the end of the level will have a 'P' on it. Once you've got 'P' flags on all six of these pacifist runs, head back to that turtle in World 3. He'll then unlock the Black and White mode for you!

Don't forget about the Fork!
