The Angel and Demon Boss Guide (Secret)

Learn how to unlock Cuphead's secret black and white mode and vintage audio filters by completing pacifist runs of platforming levels and achieving high ranks on boss battles.

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Secret Mode: Black and White visuals with vintage audio filters.
• Unlock Condition 1 (B&W Mode): Pacifist runs on all 6 platforming levels.
• Unlock Condition 2 (Filter): Achieve Grade A or higher on all boss battles.

Phases:

1. Pacifist Platforming Levels: Complete the following levels without attacking enemies: Forest Follies, Treetop Trouble, Funfair Fever, Funhouse Frazzle, Perilous Piers, Rugged Ridge. A 'P' will appear on the flag at the end of each successful pacifist run.
2. Return to the Turtle: After completing all six pacifist runs, speak to the turtle in the World 3 hub.
3. Boss Battle Grades: Aim for Grade A or higher on all boss fights. The fork character outside the World 3 shop will acknowledge this.

Strategy:

• Focus on evasion and parrying during the platforming stages to avoid defeating enemies.
• Master boss patterns to consistently achieve high grades (A or above).
• The turtle in World 3 is the key NPC for initiating the pacifist challenge.
• The fork character provides information on the boss grade requirements.
