What's the Secret Mode?

The secret mode we're talking about is a black and white filter that makes the game look like a genuine 1930s cartoon. On top of that, it comes with some awesome audio filters that really amp up the vintage vibe. It's a neat way to experience the game with a totally different aesthetic.

Finding the Turtle in World 3

Your first step is to make your way to World 3. Once you're in the hub area, look for a turtle chilling on the docks. This is your guy! He'll chat with you about pacifism and give you a big hint: if you can beat all the platforming levels without taking down a single enemy, a special bonus awaits.

Unlocking the Secret Mode: The Pacifist Challenge

So, the turtle's given you your mission: you need to play through all six of Cuphead's platforming stages and complete them without firing a shot at any enemies. These levels are:

• Forest Follies
• Treetop Trouble
• Funfair Fever
• Funhouse Frazzle
• Perilous Piers
• Rugged Ridge

Here's the cool part: when you successfully finish one of these levels without defeating any enemies, the flag you raise at the end will have a 'P' on it. Keep this up for all six stages, and then head back to that turtle in the World 3 hub. He'll then unlock the Black and White mode for you!
