Navigate Metroid: Other M's Cryosphere, find Missile Tanks, and defeat Gigafraug and Kyratian. Speed Booster and Shinespark authorized.
Walkthrough
- 1From [MT18], proceed right to the Navigation Booth to save. Roll over obstacles and shoot Himellas. Morph Ball under a fallen stalagmite to find a Missile Tank. Avoid the Fly Pod and cross platforms, then freeze and destroy Volfons with missiles.
- 2In the next room [MT19], fall into the water and go to the right corner for a Missile Tank. Kill Skulteras but don't waste time. Shoot the switch from the far right underwater platform to avoid climbing the ladder. Avoid Joulions. The Fumbleye in the center is non-hostile. Run down the hall, avoiding Snomers and Joulions.
- 3In the next room, fall down and encounter the Gigafraug. Fire a missile, perform two overblasts, and a charge shot to enable Lethal Strike. Attacks are ineffective until its plating is fractured by a missile. Jumping on the right platforms prevents the Gigafraug from reaching you but makes damage difficult. Sense Move its fast stomping attack. Shatter the ice blocking the Navigation Booth with a missile if the Gigafraug hasn't already, then save.
- 4Enter the room ahead [MT20] and jump into the tunnel on the left wall. Roll past the vent when it's not blowing. Roll to the back to enter a new room. Fight the Kyratian: Sense Move its first attack, then fire a missile. Overblast it after it recovers, then fire a missile when it charges its armor (missiles may deflect if it's still charging). Shoot it more, then go for Lethal Strike. A faster method is a point-blank charge shot followed by Lethal Strike, but be aware they recover quickly. Morph Ball into a tunnel near the exit to find a Missile Tank.
- 5Ignore the Volfons in the next room and run ahead to encounter another Gigafraug. Fire a missile at the ice wall, climb the crack, and bomb it. Alternatively, crack the wall with a missile and let the enemy smash it.
- 6In [MT21], ignore Snomers and Morph Ball jump right. Kick climb to the top, drop down, and stay left to avoid Dessgeegas. Use missiles to kill them. To the right of the door is a glowing red tunnel; jump in and roll up to find a Missile Tank. Return and take the door.
- 7In [MT22], fire missiles at stalactites the Kyratian doesn't shoot. Don't shoot the Kyratian directly as it deflects attacks. When it tries to run, shoot it as it jumps to make it fall into the water and explode. Otherwise, charge shot and Lethal Strike on the other side. Repeat for the second Kyratian, using Jump Extend or Charge Shot Boost to reach the platform without knocking down the last stalactite. Overblasting is difficult. After defeating it, look near the water's surface in Normal View for an underwater tunnel. Enter it to get a Missile Tank. Save in the Navigation Booth.
- 8In [MT23], avoid Snomers and Himellas. Freeze the closest fan in Search View to find a Missile Tank. Go right and enter the back door. Kill Snomers and the Gigafraug. Sense Move to avoid Himellas' icicles. Destroy the Fly Pod behind the left fan by getting close, then freeze the other fan. Destroy ice on the left wall with missiles, including frozen machinery. Ride it to the Terminal to unlock the next room.
- 9Jump down and head up the cliff. Use a missile and normal bomb to clear the ice pillar. Avoid Snomers and Joulions. In the Water Tank, fire a missile at the cracked left wall and bomb it, being mindful of Skulteras. You will be sucked into the previous room. Go left, climb out of the water, and jump back to the Water Tank.
- 10In [MT24], use the Morph Ball on the floor to avoid Kyratians' grabs. Jump to the other side and climb into a wall tunnel for a Missile Tank. Exit right.
- 11In [ER01], walk down the hall and step on the third ice patch, then return to the first. Adam will contact you, authorizing Speed Booster and Shinespark.
- 12Run forward to find the E-Recovery Tank behind ice walls. Shinespark immediately upon the door opening to reach it faster.
- 13Go to the room with the sleeping Fumbleye. Use Charge Shot Boost, Jump Extend, or IBJ to cross the gap towards the next door, or run around the catwalk. The awakened Fumbleye has difficulty hitting you if you keep moving.
- 14In [ET03], Speed Boost down the hall and Shinespark across the chasm. Use the Morph Ball behind the right pillar, jump out of the slot, and go left to find an Energy Tank. Use the Morph Ball slot and save at the Navigation Booth to the left.
- 15In the Generator Room [MT25], run to the right wall and hold down to get into...
Tips
- When fighting the Gigafraug, remember that some attacks only work after its plating is fractured by a missile.
- For the Kyratian, Sense Move is crucial for avoiding its initial attack before retaliating.
- If you struggle with the Kyratian's speed, focus on the charge shot and Lethal Strike combo for a faster defeat.
- In [MT22], using Jump Extend or Charge Shot Boost can help reach platforms without dislodging stalactites.
- In [MT23], letting the Gigafraug break the ice wall can be a faster method than bombing it yourself.
- In [ER01], Shinesparking immediately when the door opens is the quickest way to reach the E-Recovery Tank.
- In the room with the awakened Fumbleye, continuous movement makes it hard for the enemy to target you.
