Master the Rhedogian boss fight in Metroid: Other M. Learn its attack patterns, weak points, and effective strategies to secure victory.
Stats / Weaknesses:
- Weak Point: Eye (when red)
- Weak Point: Horns (after Lethal Strike setup)
Phases:
- Initial Assault: Rhedogian attacks with missiles.
- Red-Eyed Attack: Rhedogian's eye turns red, signaling a powerful attack.
- Retreat: After sufficient damage, Rhedogian flees.
Strategy:
- When Rhedogian is not actively attacking, use your regular beam shots. Don't waste charge shots, as it will dodge them if it's not in an attack animation.
- Always use Sense Move to dodge its missiles. Try to move further away from it when you Sense Move.
- To maximize damage, start charging your Power Beam *before* you dodge its missiles, and immediately release the charge shot right after you successfully dodge.
- When its eye turns red, you'll have a brief window to fire a missile directly at its eye. Do this as quickly as possible!
- If you successfully hit its red eye with a missile, you can then move in for a Lethal Strike. This is crucial for destroying its horns, especially if they were frozen.
- You can force Rhedogian into its red-eyed attack state by consistently hitting it with missiles.
- After landing a few more charge shots following these maneuvers, Rhedogian will eventually retreat.
- After the fight, return to the elevator. Speed Boost up to the door and then use a Shinespark to descend the hallway on the right, destroying the Snomers in your way.
- In the next room, switch to your Morph Ball and enter the hole in the pipe on the wall. Bomb the first slot you find.
- Exit the pipe and position yourself between the empty and full tanks. Activate Search View and shoot the switch located through the empty tubes using your Wave Beam.
- Enter the tunnel that opens up and roll back to the elevator. From there, head to the Main Sector, and then return to Sector 3. You should aim to have collected 44% of the items by this point.
