Master Metroid: Other M combat with advanced techniques like Rolling, Overblast chain, Rapid Missile, and more. Learn these tricks to gain an edge.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Rolling: While in Morph Ball mode, rolling is faster than running on flat surfaces where you cannot use the Speed Booster. It is also effective on downward slopes, but not stairs. Be aware that you cannot easily defend yourself while rolling in Morph Ball mode. Unmorph just before hitting the ground or when the game forces you to. It takes about three seconds to reach maximum speed, spring jumping does not carry momentum, and turning slows you down.
  2. 2
Bomb Turn: Lay a bomb, unmorph, and morph again before the bomb detonates. This allows you to start rolling at maximum speed, making turning while rolling a viable speed trick.
  3. 3
Five-Bomb Drop: Charge your beam in Normal View, then morph. This will drop five bombs instead of one.
  4. 4
Overblast Chain: After an Overblast, Samus jumps backward. If positioned correctly, you can jump onto an enemy behind you and perform another Overblast. Samus will continue this chain until she lands. You can influence this by pressing 2 to spin while jumping off.
  5. 5
Aerial Missile: Missiles can be fired while in the air. Search View (a mode that slows down time) enters slow-motion while airborne. This is particularly useful after an Overblast and can be combined with the Aerial Rapid Missile.
  6. 6
Rapid Missile: After firing a missile, release B, quickly switch to Normal View, then back to Search View and lock on to fire another missile. This can be done rapidly if timed correctly and is useful against enemies vulnerable to missiles. To avoid pointing the controller away, you can cover (press the cover button to crouch behind walls or objects) the Wii Remote's pointer with a free hand. This technique allows you to open the triple lock Seeker Missile door in Bioweapon Research Center without using the Seeker Missile, even if you already possess it.
  7. 7
Aerial Rapid Missile: Similar to a technique in Metroid Prime, you can fire missiles very rapidly while in the air. Jump, enter Search View, lock onto an enemy, and repeatedly press A as fast as you can. Missiles will fire quickly. Sometimes, rapid missiles will continue firing after landing or after the target is destroyed. This is useful after an Overblast on enemies weak to missiles that require multiple hits, such as Groganch.
  8. 8
View Trick: Charge your beam in Normal View, continue holding 1, and switch to Search View. This allows you to bring a charge from Normal View into Search View, enabling the Fast Super Missile and Instant Super Missile. You can also hold A and bring a Search View charge to Normal View, though this is less useful unless done accidentally. If you switch to Search View before a charge is complete, it will stutter briefly before continuing. Switching from Search View to Normal View during a charge will end the charge, leaving Samus in her Concentration stance.
  9. 9
Fast Super Missile: Use the View Trick, hold B to lock onto a target, and release 1 to fire the Super Missile. This is safer than charging a Super Missile while standing still in Search View. It can also be used with the Seeker Missile.
  10. 10
Instant Super Missile: After holding 1 in Normal View using Sense Move, quickly use the View Trick to bring the charge into Search View. Lock onto a target with B and release 1 to fire a Super Missile. This can also be used with the Seeker Missile.
  11. 11
Jump Extend: While jumping forward, press 1 to fire, then 2 to start spinning again. Continue alternating 1 and 2 to switch between shooting and spinning, extending your jump. Sliding your thumb quickly over 2 and 1 from right to left allows for effortless execution. This can be used in various places to save time and enable sequence breaks.
  12. 12
Charge Shot Boost: During a jump, releasing a charge shot behind you can propel you towards a platform you might otherwise miss. This works best when the shot is released just before missing the platform. It can reach some of the same areas as the Jump Extend.
