Talent Point Allocation

Weapon Talents

Tali has access to Pistols and Shotguns. Maxing Shotguns to unlock Master Carnage is recommended for short-range combat. Invest six ranks in Pistols to unlock Shotguns, and consider advancing to eight ranks for Advanced Marksman or maxing Pistols entirely, as they are Tali's primary mid-range option.

Basic Armor and First Aid

Tali is restricted to light armor and requires unique quarian armor. While her Electronics and Quarian Machinist ranks provide more Shields via Shield Boost, these offer less Damage Protection than armor. Maxing Basic Armor is suggested, aiming for Colossus X Light Armor for its 65 base Damage Protection. First Aid is not recommended; instead, equip Tali with a Medical Exoskeleton or Energized Plating armor mod.

Tech Talents

As an Engineer, Tali has access to most tech abilities except Medicine. Max Electronics and Decryption to rank nine to unlock Damping and Hacking, respectively, and to acquire Master Overload and Master Sabotage. Overload damages enemy Shields and increases vulnerability, while Sabotage overheats enemy weapons. Both abilities are crucial and also allow for unlocking containers and hacking computers. Damping, unlocked at rank twelve for Master Damping, puts enemy tech/biotic abilities on cooldown (up to 60%) and can stun enemies, hindering their offensive power.

Hacking is the least useful tech ability. It requires Decryption rank seven to unlock and is most effective at Master AI Hacking (rank twelve). While it can be useful for disabling powerful Geth or turrets, its limited applicability and late unlock make it a lower priority.
